******Official War Thunder Thread*******

Ok having problems with putty trying to get it to access the server but it keeps crashing. Anyone any good with ssh and linux??
 
I'll probably say I'm just about passable with ssh / linux. If I have a specific task, that is - mending broken things is much harder.

My guess is it'll be the SSH session freezing, putty is fairly indestructible and will run on pretty much anything.

Putty that keeps crashing. Worked great. When i first set the ts server up. Ill try again when. I get home if not ill give one of you guys the login details
 
I'm new to this game, what do I need to get into the events? I only have a few teir I planes! I am enjoying the game though it seems to suffer from people wanting to dog fight more than actually complete the mission...

You can still do the events with low-teir planes, no doubt we will end up doing some tier 1's or something tonight.

We do tend to dogfight more than try to complete the missions I think, but due to our leet skills dogfighting it can lead to a win just by thinning the enemy out.

Apply to the squadron and hop on with us tonight, you'll soon learn the ropes by the end of the evening.

Alcohol is optional although the game is infinitely funnier while under the influence.

Same, great success. Go to go out and socialise till 10 though :(

As Boycey has said, search for the squadron in game (OcUK) and apply, let us know your in game name on this forum and we'll accept your application and take you under our wing (pardon the pun). Get yourself on tonight for some of the best fun you can have on the internet with your clothes on!! :p

Don't worry too much about the in game events, they aren't up to much for the most part. Join in with us for some arcade shenanigans. As your low tiered make sure you get yourself the H6K. Much trollage can be had with a squad full of those.
 
So, yeah, the team listiened to my instructions. We all focussed our fire on the 17's left wings, and down they went :D Never seen a clean sweep like this before, especially against 17's
