******Official War Thunder Thread*******

With a joystick in cockpit view the planes seem to yaw all over the place for me at least. The twist rudder isn't great on the stick but in CloD its no where near as bad when trying to aim. I end up just playing arcade with mouse, not ideal but it fairly fun to be fair.

I read somewhere theyve added some tremble to the joystick option in arcade to even out the playing field for mouse players... anyway im so sick of arcade mode and third person I may just abandon this altogether. Going to get the hurricane 1 upgrade tonight and fly historical and realistic and see if i can find that game i want to play.

WOW!

What a game! So glad my clan wouldn't shut up about how good it was.

Decided not to play with Joystick as using the mouse is a lot more acurate and can turn quicker.

Its literally world of tanks but with planes. Cant wait to finish work to jump back on it.

I tried a round over the weekend using my xbox pad. Couldn't hit a thing, I was all over the place! Need to spend some time getting used to the game, but with Arma3 and EndGame out within the fortnight I'm not sure it will get much of my attention.

Just incase anyone here wanted to collect and fly all the planes (was my future goal) then you're out of luck. The only two planes which are impossible to get is the TU-2 (closed Beta participants only, obviously over now) and the A-26C-45 (only for buying some ****** $2500 Russian laptop back in November 2012, not getting that one either) I was a little disappointed since that was kind of my goal. I hope in some shape or form they will be offered in the future.

I'm glad to see that this game is picking up some momentum. What WG have done to WoT is such a shame. From a balanced thinking game to a "pay to win, must grind, must get premium ammo" mess. The new T10 British TD is proof of that.

What I love about WT is that my reserve biplane can still take down a plane 10 tiers higher - sure it's hard but so satisfying to do !

This game is bloody brilliant, a breath of fresh air, such fun multiplayer, smooth and highly addictive.

It shocks me how a small dev team can produce something this polished, in comparison to a title like arma 3.

Started playing this yesterday. Absolutely brilliant.

The Russian bi-planes are fantastic and although the urge is really to unlock the superior planes, I have found myself sticking to the reserve planes for the sheer fun.

Must resist spending money though!

I've had a go on it too, it's good fun. I've not tried historical/realistic yet, as I've been getting a feel for it in arcade: but once I've got a Spitfire I'll try that out.

Arcade is good, but I can see it getting a bit "samey" very quickly - the performance envelopes seem to have been balanced out to make it less intimidating for rookies, meaning my Gladiator can keep up with a Spitfire... I want more "energy" fighting with proper tactics, at the moment you don't get much advantage from altitude, and momentum seems less important than it should be - try a boom and zoom. The boom works fairly well, but unless you put them down in one shot (unlikely, as far as I can tell) or climb out very early then the victim can normally follow you enough to put you down.

I'm hoping a realistic/historical battle, plus a couple of squaddies, will improve things: it's fun for now, but I can see myself getting bored of it without some more complexity. Oh, and it takes far too long to get anywhere in a bomber. I can do more damage with a fighter bomber on the deck than with a high altitude area bomber.

I'm audigex if anyone wants to squad up - particularly if you want to try some wingman tactics.

Thought I'd give this game a try, I need to learn to love arcade mode for what it is but I am loving the full real. I just need to get my hands on some of the better planes.

This is a vid of a dogfight I had in full real, I thought it would be fun to see if could turn my Hurricane with a Bi-Plane! What followed was a quite intense fight with a bizarre and hilarious ending! Hope you enjoy it.

Nice video not tired full real yet reminds me off combat flight simulator days, I have finally updated the game has anyone tired the Japanese tree?

It Shocks me that anyone would choose to Compare this to Arma 3 Alpha, it's ridiculous for a start they are completly different types of game, Arma 3 is by far the more complex & resource heavy, Also Arma 3 Alpha is exactly that an Alpha testing phase not representative of a final product even though it's a paid Alpha.
This does look like it could be fun but I'm unsure if I'd like it, due to having played some of the more serious sims, I think I may find it to stripped down in comparison can anyone thats played this & more serious combat filght sim comment?

Yeah im only getting somewhere between 0.5-0.6mb myself on Virgin but ive only got another 4 minutes to go!

EDIT: Im done! see you all on the battlefield. Im the guy getting rammed by the mountains!
