what the hell he was typing into youtube to come up with that we will never know, although I have my suspicions.
This is getting worryingly bizarre even before the betterflyingjuice has started flowing. I can see a night of thrills inbound.

1) I've got a GTX660, and it plays War Thunder fine, usually around 60-90 FPS depending on what's happening on-screen, and I have the eye candy pretty well turned up. You might find that the E5500 limits your average FPS a little, but you should be fine with a few of the demanding graphics tweaks turned down.
2) It's fun
It's not a complicated method of controlling the planes, and for the Arcade mode that most of us typically play its the most advantageous way to play. Give it a go, at least with it being free to play you can get the idea of if you like it, and decide if/when to put some cash into it.Cheers for the advice guys - downloaded it and decided at 1 am it would be a good idea to try it out.

Yeah I'm currently running out a PBY, a Buffollo and prem bufflo I got and a sbd1
Its fun, but its a little tricky - played a few realistic as well and did ok - 4th in my pea shooter in one.
The tutorials are good as well, done them and some of the single player missions

its tricky at first youll get used to it and youll be on the top of the scoreboards very soon
if you got the tempest Mk V then youll be seeing a lot of jets mate
I have been banned from the in game chat due to use of foul language last night. I don't think I typed a single thing into the chat yesterday.
Perhaps it was the squadron who had the row of B17s, me taking out 2 and then ramming the 3rd could have annoyed them!.

That'll be your pretty old CPU showing itself up... try turning off some of the advanced options, motion blur, haze, soft particles etc. What resolution do you play at?

The B17 is pretty epic, and takes an insane amount of damage before it goes down. If the enemy team has more than 3 of them, you can be looking at a pretty short game!The american tree seems to start off a bit weak, get better up to around the BR 3.0-3.3 area, with things like the P400, P40 and P39, then it goes very much into bomber territory and there's not many good planes after those. Seems almost everyone I fly with dislikes the F4U line, which I have tried to love, but can't.
Anyway, good luck and enjoy, get yourself in the squadron if you haven't already and I'm always up for a low-level match or 5!
Edit: Oh, and work your way to unlocking the A-20G. At first you might think "err, why?" but you'll find low level players are desperate to go head-to-head with you in it for some reason. 6x .50 cal's in the nose soon sorts them out!

A20-G ok i'll see were I am at to that.
WOT I play with it on low, pretty much everything switched off.
It seems itsa few maps that kill it, but hey ho - no big deal- 30fps ain't great but its play able
Yeah it would be great if you don't mind a proper newbie joining ya.
Thing is, the Tempest Mk V was introduced very early in 1944. I'm going up against F80's which didn't see proper service until just after the war. I wish they would narrow the bands a little based on historic data.
