Is there a cheaper way to get premium? £9 a month seems a bit steep.

There were some voucher code offers with graphics cards a little while back. People were selling those off cheaper, but I don't know if they are still available? You can pay for for a year up front which brings it to less than £6 a month. They occasionally have offers on that deal as well to make it even cheaper.

£9 a month is pretty average for MMOs however, and you can play it free if you choose.
wot is not an mmo though and should not be trying to compete with them.

if anything it's a moba and most of them are free

I'd probably get premium all the time if it were only £5 a month but £9 a month I just cant justify it month after month

It is an MMO, didn't it even win Golden Joystick MMO of the year?

it's as much an an MMO as
counter strike , quake , call of duty , medal of honour, BF and just about any other online game.

is TF2 an mmo because it has items and crafting?

mine craft is more an mmo than this as it has a persistent world yet people wouldn't call it an mmo

Well they don't have a clue about genre's then.

MMO's are massively multiplayer games with hundreds/thousands of players in 1 world. Not 30 player battles.

Look at the top left next time you are logged in.

It's classed as an MMO. It's not a typical one, but that's not the point. It's what it's officially recognised as.

And anyone who thinks it should be free, how do you expect it to get continued support through patches and updates on that basis?

I could class any game as an MMO doesn't mean it is one, I think it's wrong to be put in that genre as it does hardly anything an MMO does apart from charge you a fee if you want benefits.

******* hell next thing we know they'll be calling COD an MMOFPS.

they can call it what they want it's nothing like an mmo and just your average multiplayer online game and other games manage to be free and make millions like league of legends

And how do you think it makes this money? Through paying for Riot points, collectors packs and various other paid for content in the game. Sound familiar?

WOT can also be played free, so I don't understand what your attempt at a point is.

you don't need to pay for premium though...

most other online games you pay for stuff that has no effect on the game or the rewards.

WOT is purposely made a grind to make people buy premium which they think they can justify by trying to palm it of as an mmo.

a real mmo would be like ww2 online with a massive half scale map of europe

this is a massive non-argument

I don't pay for premium and have to grind, yes, but premium players have to grind a little less.

The fact that I don't pay for it doesn't mean I'm missing out, which it does on other games. And pure scale isn't a valid argument, there are plenty of 'massive' games which arent as good in the long run, you can't make up for quality with size
