****** Official World of Tanks OcUK Clan ******

so your saying it's an mmo ? 50k people in a queue /lobby is not an mmo.

neither are tiny maps and double digit battles.

anyway the point people were making was for £9 you get very little value for money compared to what an mmo offers for the same price
the game is pretty much the sqame setup as many other online games it does not make them mmos either it makes them online games

how many regular online games charge a monthly fee?

They sell it as an MMO, it is classed as an MMO, it wins awards as an MMO, it optionally charges monthly as an MMO. I really couldn't care less if it is or it isn't but it seems to fit the criteria for the gaming industry. As for value, that's down to the individual and as you have the option to play it for free whilst premium players fund the game it's immaterial. Personally the cost for me is insignificant and as I can't play the game every night it lets me catch up on the occasions when I can play.

classed as an mmo by idiots sure.

it is not persistent
it is not massive
it has no "world"

it is not an mmo

next people will be saying gtav is an mmo because it has multiplayer

some companies are trying to change the definition of mmo to suit their marketing needs that is all

and FYI I likely spent over £100 on wot quite easily but CBA to add it up.

if the premium was half the price it is not I would likely have had it every month instead of every few months.

as it is now £9 a month for not an mmo is not value for money especially with the **** GM's and crappy customer support.

like me getting chat banned for "death threats and other threats of violence" for telling someone "if they shot blocked me again I would remember there name and blow them up"
when I could have just tked them and not had any punishment other than less credits and exp

also those hacks going around were going around for months before the devs bothered to do something and they only seemed to do that once they were well known which is not the kind of support you expect when you are paying for something

why all the hate all of a sudden?

Personally I dont care what a game is labelled as, I enjoy playing it and if itsn't an MMO or whatever it doesn't bother me!!!!

Got my Matilda today, it's the first tank I've played outside tier 1 that i've found fun good but I'm really not familiar with the maps at this tier, I have no idea where to go most of the time.

The premium account obviously works for WG, as does WoT being classified as an MMO. You're not going to change any of that.

When I was on new maps, I would sit back and watch everyone else, then after a few games you know what to do, then die quicker :D

Premium DLC also works for the likes of EA, does it make it right for the consumer? No.

WoT may be classed as an MMO but at least I have the intelligence to know it isn't actually an MMO.

Yeah, then again you get noobs like me or just bad players who just go to the wrong places :p
I have been watching a lot of Mighty Jingles, QuickyBaby and Sidestrafe on youtube but they often play higher tiers where the tactics are slightly different, I am picking it up slowly though :)

classified as an mmo by ****** idiots that think smart phone games are proper gaming and touch screen and waving your arms about like an idiot is the future.

there are tons of articles about why WOT should never have won the mmo category because it is not an mmo.

some people need to quit there jobs or go research the different game genres and find out what an mmo actually is.

golden joystick awards are obviously complete and utter morons for putting a moba/online game into the mmo category.

anyway Think I will go play another mmo for a bit like starcraft 2 DERP DERP

Was GuildWars (original) classed as an MMO? If it was then i can see why WoT is.

Anyway, had a fun evening last night thanks to zoom helping me out with a platoon. I was on a seriously bad loosing streak on my own, MM deffinately had it in for me! But thanks to the platoon I managed to get my 15 wins just before midnight :)

Cromwell + Hellcat makes a lethal combo

Do EA or WG force you to buy it? No they don't.

Your opinion does not make it so.

It doesn't fit your particular requirements for an MMO.

That's not the point, no company forces me to buy anything but that doesn't mean I'm not allowed an opinion on their marketing/pricing.

It's entirely the point, as a consumer if you don't like something you don't buy it. We're talking luxury items here not essential commodities that you need to live.

No it wasn't the point, it's not as simple as just, lets bend over and accept the fact if we don't like it we don't buy it. Their marketing the game as the wrong genre for a start and charging a price that includes no where near the benefits/content you get for paying a similar amount a month for real MMO's.

If that was the case the game would have failed. The fact that it is enormously successful shows that they have it right. You may not like it, but that's just the way it is.

The game would still be just if not more successful without the premium content. Premium puts many people off playing it as they don't see why they should have to pay for things like increased XP. I can see why they've done it though and why people pay it, because it seems to have to become accepted nowadays.

I enjoy the game thoroughly, I just don't agree with their pricing of premium that's all.

Where would all their revenue come from without premium?
