** Official World of Warcraft: Mists of Pandaria Thread**

So, now I've reached the 'end' with my DK, I have a choice for my second character:

Fire/frost mage
Subtlety rogue
Arms/fury warrior
MM hunter.

All of those classes and specs are fun for me: so which is outputting good DPS in PvE at the moment?

Either that or just swap them for mats at the vendor?

Yeah, think I'll have to go for that. Seems like a waste!

Mages will always be high in PvE, Frost is in a very good position atm and it's super damn easy! I hate fire. HATE IT, and you NEED full crit gear for it to be even remotely viable.
I'm a Combat Rogue through and through (even at the beginning of tiers when they are weaker) and have never been fussed with Sub (I levelled as it to 85 and found it super fun, stealth>ambush>mob is dead but haven't played it properly in end game). Sub is harder to play than the other two specs and normally outputs less DPS. ATM in T16 Sub can pull away but at higher gear levels Combat will pull ahead again.
Fury is in quite a reasonable place at the moment as well afaik, not sure about Arms, I've always thought Arms was more PvP than PvE.
MM I have no idea, but I believe Survival and BM are best for PvE atm.

I keep trying to play my melee alts, but it always comes back to "this is squishier than my rogue" or "where's the deeps like my rogue can do?".
My main alt atm is a Holy Pala but my backup alt is Frost Mage. I'm thinking I will promote Magey to main alt in WoD when they change the healing.
Rogue4Lyf as main though.

Here's me: Karogu :)
The patch has messed up the item upgrades on the armory page, rest assured I am upgraded. :p

I levelled a rogue a bit recently for fun, and I have to admit, the thing I enjoyed the most was:

"Hi, please kill this dude at the back of a mob infested cave"
"Ok"
*Stealth through cave, get to dude, ambush, ghost strike, eviscrate - dead*
*Stealth back out*

I mean it just saves so much time and faff. The class is quite good fun to play as well. :p

This is why I don't think I could ever level a non-rogue through questing, having a rogue as my main. I would miss stealth too much. Also made gearing on timeless easy, sap the elite guarding the chest, grab chest, stealth to next chest avoiding anything dangerous. Or just run through everything on the mount then vanish.

Leveling a druid atm when I don't fancy doing anything on my main, which also has stealth for those sort of things :) Though I'm quite enjoying just tanking/healing instances a couple of times here or there, nice short queues.

Guild hasn't got a flex team together atm though there are plans to get it back together after some people left, and at ilvl 522 I'm almost fully LFR geared but not high enough to do flex as most groups seem to want 550+ even for part 1. :(

lol just had a 540 geared mage in LFR SoO being arrogant about his dps, even though he is overgeared for the content.

On the two occasions he died not one of the many people with a battle res used it on him. Which led to him posting recount and complaining. Quite amusing.

Sadly theres loads of people like that who do LFR. I was on my warrior (arms/prot) and a DK joined who had around 545ilevel and he was exactly the same, boasting about "boosting" us through the content and that we should be grateful. We ended up kicking him and tanked it all with 515ilevel tanking gear without issue. Dunno why these people exist lol.

Well update from my part we are probably a raid away from a Hc 25 Spoils kill, 3 or 4 1% wipes

Getting to 2nd phase but DPS seems to be random that we kill 1 side easy butthe other is at 40 with 40 secs left and not enough time to get across and help

I seem to be the new ret paladin in the guild as i am normally Holy and found myself start 1 side, changing at 50% in the 1st room and doing the same in the 2nd Room.

Think we are extending this week but also going for a kill tonight so we can reset, not sure, we will see

Interesting post thanks. Looking at your character makes me want to roll a rogue :D

The thing that has always put me off rogues, and to some extent all melee classes, is the reliance on a good weapon to get good dps. In the case of a rogue getting a decent weapon is twice as tough as you need 2 of them!

If you're a caster then just with a few random pieces of good armour your dps will be decent.

I dunno maybe there's an easier way to gear up, I'm no expert.

Do it!
The only thing that I regret about making my Rogue my main is PvP achievements. I'm a bit of an achievement whore and PvP achieves are proving difficulty as most people in random BGs nowadays are either Bots, Russian or fully geared. Being a melee in amongst Russian laggers means you will not hit ANYTHING (except maybe the floor when they're done with you).

I think to some extent every character *needs* a good weapon, they give so many stats.
For Combat you're fortunate in that you can use ALL(!) the Agility weapon drops, whereas Assass and Sub are really wanting to find those nice Dagger drops. (It took until we were halfway through ToT HC for me to get any dagger drops to try Assass and then I was made to swap back to Combat for CouncilHC for my cleave >.< lol)

For your PVP achievements, get the OQ addon, always plenty of premades for fast wins :)

So far I am upto 1950 rbg rating too with just randoms from OQ. And do premades myself for the other achievments.

Anyone know if it's still possible to go back and collect all of the old tier armour sets? And if so is it possible to solo the raids in order to get them?

I've got some old sets on my Lock(T6, T7, T8) but I'd like to get the vanilla and BC sets too.

Urgh. Still having trouble with Malkorok hc. After weeks of struggling to keep the tanks alive we seem to have gone back to basics and now people are dying to pools and breath of Y'Sharrj.

Careless, really.
