****** Official World of Warships Thread ******

I've paid dubloons to convert XP. When I just got frustrated with the grind!

But I know people don't sometimes want to do it!

Oh believe me the temptation was there with the Furutaka, have like 200k xp I could convert if I wanted to but really want to save doing that for when it's really needed. Colorado to avoid playing it with the stock hull may be where I give in, but we'll see :)

Okay just had a game where a German guy just rammed me in my own team, Because I did not turn fast enough he fired all his torpedoes at me and killed a friendly..

Just had a game on Hot Spot domination, I was in my Kongo, just got my 4th kill, had plenty of good damage done and the game was won just a question of points ticking up. I get my 4th kill and a 'friendly' Isokaze starts scraping along the side of my hull, goes 'you're a big ship' in chat and torps me. Thankfully the game ended before all his torps hit...

The big problem with multiplayer games, the players...

Was playing a game last night in a destroyer, was doing well, 3 kills and going in for the 4th, there was only 1 problem tho....

The aircraft carrier I was aiming/looking/shooting at was invisible :( plain as day on the map, but not on screen slap bang in the middle of C

Are you sure it was still there? If I spot a carrier then move my planes away to reload it'll leave a last known position on the map and I have to rehunt it down.

You were not in detection range then. Carriers do have good concealment, if it hasn't moved then on the map you will see a red outline with a black inner indicating the last spotted position.

Yes you can see planes landing and taking off without actually seeing the carrier.

Makes it sound laughable though doesnt it. You can see tiny specks of planes but a massive great whacking lump of steel you can not see on a blue sky day.

Aye but they have to balance the game within reason. Otherwise carriers would be way off the map 300 miles from the battle!

We all know WoWs is not a simulator after all ;)

They seem to be doing a 'fairly' good job of cramming a naval battle scenario into the confines of a map situation which wouldn't ever be realistic, and still having a fun aspect to the game.

It'll never be 'right' so to speak, because most naval battles would be fought well out of sight of land, so it'd be pretty boring having a flat open sea all the time.

destroyed a cleveland that was on full health with one hit from a HE round... dont know how the hell that happened but i bet he rage quit lol

Detonation!

You got a lucky hit to the magazine which one shots a ship. It has happened to me 3/4 times in around 500 games. Rare occurrence!

Need some assistance.

I've almost got enough points in the Kawachi to be able to afford the next battleship in the tree, and to ditch the Kawachi because of its' pitiful range.

What I know I can supposedly do is to send my commander to reserve, sell the ship, and then buy the next BB without a captain, and put my Kawachi captain onto the new ship - problem is, I don't actually know *HOW* to do this.

As far as I can tell, I haven't got any spaces in my reserve to send the guy to - so do I need to get rid of a different captain first to create a space or what?

Click on your captain.

Click the From Reserve tab beneath him.

If it is full (by default you have four slots), right click one of the captains you want to get rid of, Click Dismiss.

Go back to your Kawachi captain.

Right click then select Send to Reserve.

Sell Kawachi, buy Myogi without a captain.

Click where the commander would normally be, then select your Kawachi captain from the reserve and select whichever retraining option you prefer.

Matt your going the wrong way - It's all about the DD and Cruiser's mate.

BB's are just exp pools of credit goodness.

Yeah, I thought I'd give Battleships a crack, and the Myogi looked like a decent improvement over the Kawachi - but what she gains in range, she loses in rate of fire. :( It's like having a floating KV-2.... over 30 seconds between shots. Snooze. Amazingly accurate as to where the shots fly, but the flight time is just so ridiculous I think I'll sell her and stick with CA's and DD's.

One ship I'm not selling though, is the St Louis! :D
