OK so the girlfriend got a G3 yesterday and ive had a good few hours playing and comparing with my OPO its the 2GB ram version and its a really nice phone I've been thinking about swapping my OPO for one for a few days and now I think I'll stick with my OPO.
The things that the LG stood out on was the download speeds and the Camera. For some reason when I set the downloads off on both my OPO and G3 the G3 sucked all the WiFi and rinsed my OPO everytime. The camera is also far superior, very fast auto focus and the laser focus were really nice. The camera takes some awesome shots. The screen is also really nice and detailed and colours look really well as they do on the OPO. Another thing i preferred about it was the height of the phone it felt easier to use than my OPO but it still didn't feel as nice in the hand in comparison. I also liked the keyboard, and the ability to change the height of it to what you want and suits you. The ability to remove the battery and also add a SD card is also good and something I like the my devices.
Now the things I didn't like about the LG, first of I noticed lag the home screens and onscreen nav buttons had quiet abit of lag but most noticeably when scrolling the internet chrome to be exact it didn't feel as smooth it looked clunky at times. Another thing which could be changed with a case was that the phone feels very slippy maybe because I'm used to a sandstone back now.
Next up the battery life is certainly not on par with the OPOs battery albeit it chargers fairly quick but again not as fast as the OPO. However its battery is removable so that's a plus to the LG.
The speed of which is opened and closed apps, loaded YouTube videos or internet pages wasnt as fast as my OPO.
The screen which is amazing looks washed out because the brightness isn't anywhere near the OPOs level making the OPO screen actually look better minus the yellow band. The speakers which are stereo didn't sound as good as my OPOs mono speakers possibly because the volume wasn't quite as loud as the OPO.
I also did some benchmarks the LG came 6th with 31,246 score against my OPO rank 1st 38,456.
I forgot how bad bloatware were on a device having used my OPO the LG just like samsung devices are full of it, I also know that rooting devices could change things up but this was brand new and stock. The OS wasnt anywhere near as smooth and customizable as CyanogenMod which is nice without root. I also found the settings layout strange and not to my taste when using the LG.
