Overwatch

Does anyone get lots of crash to desktops? I just created this thread as I don't think it's a game issue, but thought I'd check :)
None here. It is a very robust game from an alt+tabbing point of view. I'm running dual screens and shifting in and out of the game to mirc without issues. This is on a Win10, R9 290 i7 machine.

Had a proper rage moment earlier, sick and tired of playing support, so decided to play other characters, didn't end well, in the end I switched back to support. :o

I know it's early days, but I think Symmetra could do with a little bit of tweaking, don't think there's anything wrong with her gun or sentries. But she seems like the most situational charcter to me, purely defence and only at the beginning of the map, when you have time to setup a proper turret defence and when the teleporter is worthwhile.

Im liking her but shes only good for a couple of maps and then only the first point.

Mercy is surprisingly good fun but the lack of any self healing seems to ruin me.

Mercy does self heal... quite fast as well, but you've got to get out of the line of fire (and possibly also not be healing someone else, though I'm not sure on that point)... It's a similar amount of cooldown to shields (~3 seconds)

I'm not a fan of Zenyatta as the sole support personally.

Sure his ulti is absolutely amazing in terms of its healing and pushing ability, but he's very hard to play effectively and most people simply can't heal with him well enough with Orb of Harmony while also doing damage enough to make him worth it over Mercy/Luccio.

Great just had my first CTD in the middle of a good game.

Had to log back in for the first time and now my friends list is wiped. :(

*Restarted and friends list is back. :)

can self heal whilst healing others, noticed this tonight

Sorry not had any issues, well apart from the fact that the game always seems to launch windowed and I have to set full screen again.

Try using "borderless windowed" as the display mode. It fixed the issue for me as Overwatch didn't seem to like my monitor's res of 1920 x 1200.

:D

Weird had my first crash to desktop tonight. Played the whole weekend of the Beta and never had a crash so I wonder if something was changed slightly since yesterday?

Quite cool that I was able to rejoin the same server without issue though.

Absolutely loving it, played all the heroes quite a bit now my favourites seem to be Lucio and Winston.

However, this game seems to have completely divided my friends who all play Heroes of the Storm. Some love it, some hate it with a passion. They seem to think there is no skill/strategy and too many cheesy instakill ultis. But I think there is plenty of scope for teamplay and strategy...

It's not surprising really. Look at most of the complaints around HotS when it came out from League and DotA players. They didn't like how you couldn't really go and insta-kill someone solo, while most people (that preferred HotS, obviously) liked that if you wanted to gank people you would have to work with someone and roam around as 2+ people because it made it more team oriented.

Overwatch is basically the opposite of this, people die super quickly.

Now I don't think that teamwork is meaningless, you generally won't do well if your team just splits up and plays TDM, but it's definitely the opposite of what a lot of people liked about HotS (even when you ignore all the one shot ultimates) when it comes to time to kill (and how much skill is involved with stuff like press E and right click on McRee).

If it was f2p you wouldn't have all characters unlocked from the start. How does it look like a f2p game.

It doesn't look like Crysis/whatever the best looking games are now :D.

It's been fine for me playing 1920*1200, with black bars in 16:9 mode.

Edit: forgot to add this, if you're crashing and you've enabled Dolby Atmos try disabling it, they recently fixed some of the crashes caused by it, but I believe that it can still cause crashes.
