And for that matter I am thinking of snapping up a 6000 series or 500 series card and then you can pay a premium for that 7000 or 600 series sticker while getting the same performance as me.
I'd like to see you get the same folding power out of those series and gaming power. You said 7000 series which includes the 7970/50. The 7770 is less than what people wanted and hoped for, that's clear.

Oh but that's right, no one buys graphics cards for GPGPU uses, right?
Except people did buy NV cards purely based on that and now AMD are better than NV's best at GPGPU applications hence the mark up.
I'm sick of this hypocrisy that AMD were some knight in shining armor with their aggresive pricing, it was an anomaly to get steam in NV's face.
It's not poor value, it's just ignorance and the prices are higher than usual due to a number of factors and if people would bloody just open their eyes they would see this. Instead of bleeting on as if their opinion will change something on a forum that AMD has absolutely zero interest in (with regards to their GPU design phases), it's tiresome now and really should be put to rest. Regurgitating the exact same thing over and over is banal and most of us know what is going on. No need to try and re-enforce it constantly.
Edit: I haven't slept in quite a while, I don't mean to offend anyone.
