Pentagon releases UFO footage

When you say "Another key quote from the briefing" do you mean "another claim that has been made"?

Why does the public need to tell the military how to run the military? Can they not be trusted to run the military? Who else would be better suited to run the military then the military?! Seems like a good fit.

Everyone knows the mandate for the military is a) check out what these weird blurry things are cheers b) save the planet/Team America.

"Not everyone was convinced by Grusch’s testimony. At times, he appeared less forthcoming under oath than he had been in media interviews.

In the interview with NewsNation in June, Grusch claimed the government had “very large, like a football-field kind of size” alien craft, while he told Le Parisien, a French newspaper, that the US had possession of a “bell-like craft” which Benito Mussolini’s government had recovered in northern Italy in 1933.

On Wednesday, he was reluctant to go into details on those claims, citing issues of security.

Garrett Graff, a journalist and historian who is writing a book on the government’s hunt for UFOs, tweeted: “Very interesting to me that Dave Grusch is unwilling to state and repeat under oath at the #UFOHearings the most explosive – and outlandish – of his claims from his NewsNation interview. He seems to be very carefully dancing around repeating them.”"
You keep asking me questions that are brought up and explained in the briefing. Why don’t you save us all some time and actually look at some evidence and watch it. Instead of just sitting here dismissing everything.

Zero evidence in the hearings though. Just people talking around hats.

2.5 hours, I like slow burn TV but I'll pass.

All the summary I've read saying the same thing, just waiting on the next stage I guess?

Some people are just terrified deep down about the possibility that we are not alone. That’s why they will continuously disregard everything no matter what.

I doubt it, I'd say more people are terrified we are alone! The same impulse to believe in something more, that we're not just bags of replicating DNA that exist then die, drives belief in gods, afterlives, ghosts, I'd put alien life in this category too in a sense. There's not much to be scared of given that they haven't (to our knowledge) wiped us out and harvested the planet for energy already. Though climate change may prove the tipping point for that

Both thoughts are equally terrible. I don’t think people should be scared of disregarding nonsense, even continuously. I think it be should encouraged.

You serious :)
I want them to land on my lawn however nobody has ever bought any evidence forward and others clutch at straws.
If this was a thread on seeing Jesus or the Virgin Mary even those who clutch at straws would be laughing.

I'll also tell you this about all the 'sceptics' in this thread, we all want to believe really badly but we're not going to accept no evidence unlike others who I could easily sell some magic beans to.

It’s not a case of disregard everything, it’s a case of looking at the available evidence and considering the most likely explanation.

In the case of evidence relating to flying saucers, aliens, secret government tech - there’s literally zero evidence, other than hearsay.

There is however substantial evidence that many of the people behind these stories are operating within a whopping conflict of interest, where they’re clearly making a lot of money from all of this.

The most likely explanation in light of the evidence, is that it’s just a massive scam, where a bunch of fraudsters are using it as a vehicle to generate cash.

Nah. People are open to the idea of all sorts of things, from aliens to angels.

There is, however, a huge difference being open to the idea of something we cannot disprove, or believing a specific claim/story with zero/insufficient/poor quality supporting evidence.

There is no contradiction between the following statements:
"I cannot deny the possibility that things exist we have yet to encounter."
"I will not believe we have encountered something without sufficient proof of such an encounter."

All alleged UFO evidence falls into one of three categories:

* an indistinct blob in a photo or video
* 'Some guy told me'
* hearsay

You'd think we'd have something substantial by now if alien phenomena were real.

Well, there's a fourth category now :p

* An inquiry where people claim to have all the evidence you could ever want, but it can only be shown behind closed doors and never revealed to the public :p

You just have to believe, man. Only closed-minded people need evidence, facts, and stuff.

The thought that we are alone is much more terrifying - that we're a happy accident that hasn't been replicated anywhere else, that is terrifying.

The odds of the exact planet conditions, the chemical soup that gave rise to life are staggeringly low - the thing being, the universe is so inconceivably large, it hopefully means the possibility of life elsewhere is not only probable but likely.

Can I ask why you think people are 'TERRIFIED'?
Do you think if we 100% know that people will run round with their arms in the air?
Even the Vatican have discussed the possibility of Aliens and it will make zero difference to their belief in God, other religions will welcome it because they've known for millennia about sky people.
Of course if they come down like Independence Day then I'll be terrified.

Indeed, but it would be lovely if it were true, they would have solved FTL, if they would share such then...
such sights to show us!
