Cannot take ancient aliens seriously to be fair, even for entertainment purposes.

For me one of my main interests is ancient archaeology and ancient tales/folklore etc.
I've never come across a series that investigates every major place on Earth which to me is fascinating, you just have to dismiss their theories that go along with it.
eg In the latest episode they are in Inca territory showing 60 ton blocks that have been hauled up a high mountain, they think it's a magic levitating wand where I think it's lots of men but it doesn't distract from what I'm seeing.
Giorgio isn't the worst of the team, the others are way down the rabbit hole.

I've just been watching the 'Unidentified' programmes on Nowtv which features some of these videos.

That the series with Tom Delonge?
Binged watched it over a few weekends and some of it is interesting but they do a lot of rehashing (from previous episodes) in each episode. Also they seemed to dismiss black projects fairly quickly, American or others, and their conclusion seems to be "It's Aliens".

My MOH status was given to me for spending £1000s upon £1000s in the shop of other peoples money because I lived 400 yards from it and knew the boss - nothing to do with being some shining star :)

Where my MOH status for attempting to relentlessly convert the OCUK forum base to the spiritual, otherwordly, occult and paranormal?

I mean the show is called Ancient Aliens, if they concluded every episode by saying it probably wasn't Aliens then people would stop watching :P

Yes that's the one.

Ancient Aliens is totally different, the one with Tom Delonge is called Unidentified. It is a piece of academic brilliance compared to Ancient Aliens.

I used to binge watch Ancient Aliens on the History channel. Have not seen Tom Delonge's one yet, are there are documentaries on Netflix anyone can recommend? I have watch Bob Lazar's documentaries.

For someone who watches everything on this stuff I only managed 1 and 1/2 episodes of Unidentified, it only concentrates on UFOs & witnesses (as far as I can see from the bits I saw and synopsis of other episodes), Ancient Aliens on the other hand tackle everything.
My problem with these shows is that there is never a counter argument but one series that does is NASA's Unexplained Files.
I always remember as a lad in 1971 buying Chariots Of The Gods and believing every word, I continued to buy paperbacks on the subject including stuff like the Bermuda Triangle and so on.
It would be about 1976 when my Dad said there was a TV program on tonight about that bloke with the Aliens and he obviously meant Daniken
We both sat down because I wanted to convince my Dad and it was actually a hatchet job of his work HOWEVER if given good evidence I will listen and from that day I realised Daniken wasn't what he seemed.
eg On the Nazca Plains he talked about UFO parking but in reality the picture in his book was from the famous spider glyph which would make the UFO about 3 foot in diameter :)
He talked about a metal rod in India that never rusts and made of Alien material - a couple of metalurgists tested it and it was made of Earthly metals that don't rust when combined.
And so on ..............................

And forget Bob Lazar.

I dunno. I think shows like that just fuel the current wave of conspiracy believers and the way they are presented is largely harmful to non-intelligent people. There are some shows that present both sides of the story, but some that don't. Hollywood in general has pushed forward a ton of factually incorrect information for many, many years. As a scientist it really annoys me the way they are repeatedly guilty of ignoring science and peddling misinformation. Even fundamental stuff like knowing that a Parsec is a unit of distance, not time ( Star Wars ). It really takes little effort to get it right.
