I deliberately take ages in such situations.
I bet you’d do that even if you were in a hurry to get somewhere too, wouldn’t you?
This happens a lot at
new Polzeath not only is it a free space (nearby car park £8 plus IIRC) above the beach with easy access but an amazing veiw and base for.the day.
I will usually wait for a Local before I drive away, no way some upcountry townie with a roof box is getting it
Edit, this is tounge in cheek BTW I'm a Yorkshireman
I thought that you might be a Northerner, when you couldn’t spell tongue, but
how does one recognise a local from a visitor if he hasn’t got a roof box?
I have paid for my 8 hours parking I will damn well sit in the car 8 hours to get my money worth.
Some of you don’t think that he’s serious, do you?
One dangerous and really annoying thing I had not long ago was someone letting me in on a dual carriage way . They slowed down. Obviously I didn't pull out as I wasn't sure how fast they were going. This nearly caused a mini pile up. When they went by they had the cheek to glare.
Why do people do that. Causes so much confusion.
Most people who intend to courteously let someone out, ease up and give a short flash of their headlights.
Unfortunately this can be misinterpreted by the uninitiated as stay where you are, I’m coming through, this can lead to confusion as well.
Do this to BMWs as well. Called them B*****d M***n W****r at them before
I was a passenger in my son’s Mercedes some years ago, when he turned left out of Portugal St. into Kingway near Aldwych, central London and accelerated away.
The nearest car coming from the right was maybe 80 metres plus from the junction, and not going fast, but he sounded his horn and gesticulated.
My kid, looking in the mirror, said “What’s his problem?”
I said, “Think about it, you’re visiting from Germany and you’ve got Bielefeld plates, he’s driving a Vauxhall Viva, he probably feels inferior.”
