PES 2010 demo releasing tomorrow

The keeper AI is just so poor it's like a first time developer release.

e.g. a cross comes from the corner & Torres moves straight across the defender to tap in toward the bottom side of the goal with the goalie deciding to move toward the centre of the goal (with his back toward the players mind you) a split second before the ball reaches Torres......end result = a goal and some GK AI which is supremely terrible and on replay it just looked amateur hour tbh.

I had to give this a go - it takes ages between pressing the shot button to the player actually shooting, there was a random bit of pop up (a player in a wall just appeared out of nowhere!?) but the faces of the players look well lit.

This is very arcadey compared to fifa. Players turn and move slower, pass slower if you dont pass first time (all mentioned before I see). Its a good arcade game and a bit different to fifa but I dont see footy fans coming back to this franchise. It's fun to score a screamer from outside the box but it just feels a bit dated now. The graphics seemed alright to me but the game play hasnt progeressed even nearly enough. If it became cheap I might get it but I'll stick to my fifa pre-order methinks.

Shame really as I used to love PES. :(

My thoughts exactly. For me its only just catching up to Fifa 09, and i'd still take that over this new entry in the PES series. Seems like Konami have been trying to catch up to last years Fifa, whilst EA have stormed ahead and produced something new and in my eyes, improved.

Think it may be one of the final nails in the coffin for PES. Absolutely awful game that has gone nowhere in 3 years.

Player likeness is about the only thing it comes away with in a positive light.

Graphics are excellent this year, shame about the responsiveness but should be sorted in the release. Shooting feels really solid as well, still the same animations though from what I can see.

Search for 'pes' on PSN. It's just not on the front page yet.

This can't be final code, it just can't. Plays and looks far to unpolished even when compared to 2009. (fingers crossed)

well, that was rubbish. :o

HUGE delay trying to control anything and its generally horrible to control.

graphics are giving a fifa run for its money though....but thats about it.

I have to say I was a die hard winning eleven fan until I played Fifa 07 on the PS2. Although WE was still better, FIFA had caught up a lot. I've played both the Fifa 10 and PES10 demo and I have to say its FIFA hands down. The new PES handles like a dog, players are slow to turn, passing is terrible.. you press the button and then finally they pass the ball. It seems so cumbersome and slow... And whoever designed the main menus and the checking of the way it works needs shooting. I mean, 'To top menu'... WTH is that about?!

Well i've only had one game but so far I'm a lot more impressed than I thought (feared) I would be!
I love the 360 degree turning with the analogue stick (and this is coming from a guy who has religiously used the d-pad in the past!) and the turning & passing seems very slick!

I dont know why you have a problem with the menu - its pretty logical to me - I mean "To Top Menu" takes you to the top menu - whats wrong with that??

The jury is still out (ie. online debacle etc) but so far I'm thinking PES is my purchase for this year based on the demos!

You can't buy good taste as they say.

heehee....

I know!! ;)

Look, I've played both and so far I prefer PES - just MY opinon (which surely I'm entitled to?? :D)

You saying FIFA is better doesnt mean it is - it just means you prefer it - lets leave it at that!!!! :p

*edit* always helps that I've already scored a free kick - I think I managed 2 in the last 2 years on PES 08 & 09!! (I KNOW - I'm rubbish!!!) :p

I don't often post here but it sounds to me as though the demo's for both games haven't really changed a lot of peoples opinions. Those who were in either 'camp' to start off with are still there.

Personally I find it really hard to judge a game from one of these demo's. When I play either game for long enough then I enjoy it and then take time to re-adjust to the other one. It's therefore only natural that the same applies to the demo as well.

Feels just like a rebranded PES2009. Quite disappointed that there's been no drastic gameplay changes for this one.

Will be sticking to FIFA10 after being converted by 09.
