PFA Player of the Year Nomination's

You haven't watched Arsenal much then. Henry has missed 11 games, and hasn't even been Arsenal best player, both Toure and Mad Jens have been better than him this year.
Also Cesc has been outstanding this season, name another player of his age, doing as well as him in CM.

BINGO

I'm sorry but you just can't beat Henry this year, he has been absolutely incredible and consistent compared to joe cole/lampard etc.

As for young player, it's gotta be Rooney. Once again hes been the most consistently brilliant of the lot. I don't know how any of you can say Fabregas. He has done nothing all season until recently so hardly young player OF THE SEASON

I would agree here, I think Rooney is guaranteed one of them, I think it will either be Rooney and Fabregas or Henry and Rooney, you cant say that Joe Cole deserves it, I've watched a fair few Chelski games this season and on the odd occasion I did see him play I dont think he was anythin special IMO.

Why are you doing step overs Cole? Theres no one in front of you.

Henry once again has been out of this world, he has to be the best striker in the world, I'm a United fan but watchin Terence play is always a treat.

Also I think Fabregas has come into his own since around Christmas but I think what some people have said about him not being used to the physical side of the Premiership is true.

As for Lampard and Terry, I think they are both good players but neither deserving of the award, in the words of Eto'o, Lampard just kicks the ball up field and they all run after it.

It's nice to see the majority of nominations are English. I'd probably go with Henry and Fabregas for the awards. IMO Fabregas is the obvious choice for YPOTY, but the POTY is between Wayne and Thiery.

Rooney for both, imo, although POTY is tight, all the players are good this year, its usually based on Spring form, as thats when the voting is, and Rooneys been great recently.

Fabregas is overhyped. Sure hes played well in the Champions League but when it comes to teams like Blackburn, Bolton, Fulham, physical sides etc he just gets raped.

Yes I know Lehmann and Toure have been outstanding this year, but where would you be without Henry? Certainly not in the Champions League semi-finals

Thats because he's still lacking strength and experience. That'll come.

We definitely wouldn't be in the semis of the CL without Jens or Kolo though, and we'd be further down the league too. Jens in particular has been phenomenal this season, and saved our blushes on countless occasions, while Toure has been the rock in our ever-changing defense, and has stood head and shoulders above everyone else who's played there. Henry hasn't been bad by any stretch of the imagination, but he hasn't been a patch on those two either.

I don't think Henry has had a particularly good season to warrant being a contender for player of the year. I'm a little surprised that he's been mentioned so many times. Rooney will win one of those awards, for his sake I hope it's the player of the year and not young player. He's really matured and he's kept us in the top 2 this season. :)

So overhyped he's now played for Spain, is almost assured of his World Cup place and has been vauled at £15m+ (He also scored and created goals against Fulham)

As Weebull has said Jens and Kolo have been rocks, and Kolo is arguable more important that Henry imo. We have several players who can play up top, where as we have been short at the back until the emergence of Djourou and Eboue.

Too be fair Both Lampard and Gerrard are lucky to be there too imo. Lampard has been nowhere since Christmas, and Gerrard has been poor too, even some 'pool fans have said this

Yep I agree with that too. They are not playing to their own high standards.

Terry & Rooney for me. I might have thought differently had Terry not got away with so many handballs though.

So you would have picked someone else if Terry had been caught handling the ball a couple of times?

Yeah gerrard seems like player of the year but i heard bent has got young player as mentioned above.
Well the only place taking bets on Gerrard for POTY has Gerrard at 1/7 (odds on) and Rooney for YPOTY at 2/15 (odds on). Bookies are rarely wrong, most bookies stopped taking bets on Gerrard and Rooney for POTY and YPOTY days back.
... just as i type they have suspended betting on them now

Rooney for the win, I'd be surprised if Gerrard won it. A fantastic player...yes, but this season as a whole...I don't think so.
