Physx is it used much ?

They are not gpu accelerated. They are cpu accelerated fgs but are the same effects to the eye. There is no visual difference.

Well that isn't what we're talking about then is it. D'oh again for you.

Because I have the PhysX trailer from Nividia that they used to show case the effects and everything they show I also see.

Are they GPU accelerated? Have you analysed the videos properly to see the difference in effects? Sometimes the differences can be quite subtle. Screengrabbing not equal to proper analysis. You need to compare the two videos if you're to do it properly.

I think you have lost the plot tbh.

Because you don't understand the difference between GPU accelerated PhysX effects and normal PhysX effects?

Tell me how much experience of GPU accelerated PhysX effects do you have on your little 6870?

Stonking card btw I loved mine before I sold it 2 years ago. :)

The key question is would you buy Nvidia because of physx

Absolutely. you either want it or you don't and I want it along with 3D vision.

It was answered.

Your analysis was either flawed or they are not using GPU accelerated PhysX effects. That's all what it comes down to.

I now get where the confusion is. Arkham city has 3 levels of physx, Low,normal and high. Only low and normal on the amd side and all 3 options on Nvidia cards. I believe with Nvidia all these options would be accelerated through the gpu and obviously amd the cpu. If both vendors were set to normal then the visuals would still be the same just one runs on the cpu the other the gpu. In this game only Nvidia can run the high option.

Either way though the best Physx game borderlands 2 running gpu accelerated or on the cpu at the highest setting shows no visual difference which was my point all along but it not always being the case in every game.

Everything and I mean everything you see here I also see in my game testing what is flawed about that?

Go look at the screenshots I posted you see the smoke, the fire particles everything.

Screenshots don't show much. PhysX effects are fluid in motion events...

Also from memory when I had an AMD card all the PhysX options are not there in BL2 either. I'm 99% sure they weren't due to being GPU accelerated. No idea what the implementation is now on it though.

am not sure will after go and look but I think High was available for me to select but seeing has the performance is already running 30fps I think its best to leave on Normal.
edit
yeah its there

No - the screenshots show how it looks then. A lot of PhysX is how those effects interact with the character or the environment around them.

Only in motion can you compare the two.

To be honest it's pointless as if they're GPU accelerated they won't be there or be an option for you to select. If they aren't then they will be able to be ran on your CPU.
