Last weekend walking around the pond next to my apartment.
Sometimes I forget I live 1/4 mile form a nesting Osprey!

Egrets are more common (I need o reprocess this one, colours and exposure are a little skewed because I had to underexpose over a stop to preserve the feather detail)

Nutria often float about like alligators.

All shot on a Nikon D90 with 300mm F4.0 and 1.4xTC

I had never heard of them before moving here. They aren't native so sometimes undergo extermination programs which is kind of sad because they are pretty cool animals.

Thanks Genoma, yes 800mm using a Canon 2x III extender on a 400mm f5.6... going against all advice on the internet - I'm happy with the image quality.
