Only problem I have with Rosetta is the *)*£"!)%&) huge amount of memory each WU takes up! If you have a quad core it eats around a Gb of Ram :eek:
 
Can vouch for that Biffa. At the mo, Rosetta is using ~850MB spread over four cores. I have seen it as high as ~1GB though for the four, which is ludicrous when compared to other projects. Still, everything runs smoothly enough on my rig, which has 2GB RAM - so it's not as bad as it seems.

I have a couple of spare cores on my quad, they are not spare anymore as they have been thrown in to help and if i get no BSOD then consider them 'ours' for the foreseeable future. :)
 
Well I've been trying to find out as to why my RAC is so low on my AMD chips and I think I've almost cracked it so expect an extra 3-400 points from me :)
 
Damn those pesky pirates, my seti fleet was doing so well..
Will peel off another attack squadron tonight and send it your way, 4 cores setting sail as soon as I get home...

are there any optimised apps for rosetta?

No optimised app, no GPU app, and the points you get from Rosetta are less than for other projects.

But hey. Thats not the point is it, its the.. er... sci.. er.. .. erm... HOIST THE MAINSAIL, ALL HANDS TO THE GIBBETS! *baaaaaaahggh*
