Pizza hut

What has happened to this chain? When i was a kid i had many birthday partys in there and loved the ice cream machine.

Nowadays most of the restaurents in ly are have now closed and we just have one delivery shop for them. Pizza going out of fashion or has dominos killed them off?

They’re overpriced tat ?

99% of the pizza's I've had from Just-Eat vendors are dog****. Overcooked toppings or rock hard crust, 30lbs of cheese per pizza and that makes me gag and/or bland toppings. Only two places I'll accept a pizza from on Just Eat but only a pepperoni pizza.

And talking about fried chicken, why does anyone think to compete with KFC if they are only gunna use plain flour on chicken and fry it, it's goddamn awful.

That won't be 100% mozzarella either from those Burger/Pizza/Kebab/Chicken shops, it'll be the cheap alternative, IIRC its called "cheese analogue"

is it not because casual dining is big business these days with 100s of places to go for food. Back in Pizza Hut days you only had that or Wimpy burgers to eat out at.

They sell very substandard dry pizza for horrendous prices. No wonder they're dying off.

The one near me is almost always dead.

Pizza hut dine in is far too expensive for the quality of food compared to other chain restaurants. It would be like McDonalds increasing their meal prices to £10 to compete with other burger chains. 10 years ago you could get a family deal for £25, now like for like using a similar deal it's closer to £60. You could eat out at any other Italian chain for that using similar offers. In that time buffet has only gone up £1.50 per head.

Haven't stepped in a Pizza Hut in about 20 years, we used to go all the time when at Uni as it was "all you can eat", we used to stay in there all afternoon :)

I also remember the "art" of making your salad bowl as big a possible with lettuce leaves and cucumber, used to love their potato salad and "crispy bacon bits".

At some point it changed from fresh dough to frozen dough and that's why it was better in the 90's or when you was a kid. IMO

Ahh Wimpy, that is proper 80’s. You know there is still one going in the Broadmarsh in Nottingham? It’s a total time warp!

Wimpy is bad, they have one at Southsea above an Arcade and i had the misfortune of eating there several years ago, never again!
i didnt think there were many branches left open, but according to their website they have 74 locations (4 in Scotland, 1 in Wales and 69 in England)

Pizza hut pizzas are too greasy. After a long time of pizzas from other places i went back to pizza hut and was shocked to see the bottom 3-4mm of crust was an oily, crispy, overfried mess resembling deep fried bread. Never been again since.
