Planetary Annihilation - Kickstarter Project

you can play vs the ai if you want thou its not as good as some of the players but they are making it better every patch

thanks, on the fence about buying it and don't want to be forced into MP battles against experienced players until I know the ropes.

I've been playing against the AI all afternoon and got my arse handed to me many a time. :(

Works well to learn the units and mechanics before moving onto online games.

Picked this up on Steam for £26 in the sale at the moment. Going to fire it up later for the first time I'm hoping its worth the money, SupCom2 was a bitter disappointment :(

Why would a game being in beta be cheap? There is no requirement for a game to be cheaper than retail. It's for people who want to play now instead of waiting for release when the price will be lowered

Generally with indie games, its cheaper in beta. Although big titles tend to be more expensive.
Somehow its an indie game theyve market as a big title.

Anyway I got a code as part of a reward for a different kickstarter campaign. Not sure i'll play it yet, might wait.

Well with it being a beta, I'd assume they'd want a lot of players testing it. I can't see too many willing to spend 30 (reduced price!) on a work in progress beta game.

Well, after only 4hrs of 'playing'..when I say 'playing' I mean not having a clue what I'm doing.. it's superb !!! Sure there's stutter and bugs here and there but the basics are in and work great.

I need a decent guide on how to manage power/extractors and expansion as the AI seems to mass an army in minutes, which leaves me trying to turtle in a small area.

My first planet was the metal Death Star type which looks superb, infact just playing around with the world builder is awesome!

After 5hours of playing I've come to the conclusion there needs to be an option to turn off Nukes. The AI seems to race up to Nukes and before i know it they are coming at me quicker than the anti-nuke deffence can keep up.

Also boats seem to be fairly useless :(

The A.I is nowhere near complete, there's a big thread on the official forum by the Dev who is programming it who keeps the community up to date with what it can and can't do (boating).

You can hinder the A.I by lowering its resource/power level before you start the match or set yours to a higher rate.
