Surely GOTY has to be a working game not a work in progress??

Yes it's fun, but also can be very boring and repetitive. Dieing is usually one of 5 reasons, and most of those reasons include so much rng that it's all a bit pointless.

Hoping it can improve, more of a solo gamer so can't comment on squads much.

yeah I see your point - but I take games on how much gameplay/fun I get out of them

and so far I've had more fun with this game than I have any other this year - easily

and really very few bugs
 
To be honest I think there's generally more than 3 squads worth just some of the lurkers are too shy to organise more.

Mentioned in Discord but got the closest ever to a solo win yesterday, managed a 2nd place with 5 kills - only my 2nd ever top 10 finish. Just got unlucky that I came in the circle from the same place as another player and got sniped by the final chap :(
 
On a side note, 40+ hours in and I've only just realised the plane has more than one row of seats so first person view doesn't give a true picture of how many haven't jumped

Yup, sit at the back of the plane in first person and you can see the edge of the divider. You can also swap seats in the plane...only 5 seats mind.

Also if for whatever reason the match starts with 101 players, there are two planes.
 
I can hide how much time I've sunk into this without improving :D.

Would have been nice if they'd fixed the lag issues before doing it though but I guess they'll get wiped again at some point.
 
Yep lag is a big downer in what is a superb and addictive game. The close quarters nonsense that happens is rage inducing, but hopefully will improve in the next monthly patch.

Today on the dev blog we look at what we have updated in this week’s upcoming patch. Before we get to that I want to again talk about server performance!

We are now in the process of profiling our servers to find the choke points and track down what we need to improve in order to optimize them over the coming month. This takes time, but we will push updates to the servers once we have fixes for issues we find.

We will do our first leaderboard and stats wipe tomorrow (Wednesday May 31st) at 5PM KST/1AM PDT/8AM UTC. This will reset all player ranking and stats data. Your previous stats are saved and will be viewable in-game.

The leaderboard tracking will remain offline for 24 hours and will return on June 1st at 4PM KST/12AM PDT/7AM UTC. All data for matches played during this time will NOT be saved.


Now onto what we have changed and fixed in our weekly update. Please remember that our weekly updates are for pushing bug fixes and small performance updates, and should not be compared to our monthly patches.

We will first roll this patch out to the test server tomorrow, Wednesday. No ETA for when this will happen yet, so stay tuned to our Twitter for updates!

This patch will be deployed to the main servers on Thursday, June 1st, 5PM KST/1AM PDT/8AM UTC and is expected to take approx. 1 hour to complete.

Client Performance
  • Improved performance by reducing effects played excessively during vehicle crashes
Server Performance
  • Improved performance on the server in relation to vehicles
Bug Fixes
  • Fixed a crash related to unequipping an item
  • Fixed a crash related to when vehicles crashed
  • Fixed a bug that caused a player to die without entering the REVIVE state when being shot by a shotgun or a full-auto weapon in DUO or SQUAD modes
  • Fixed a bug that caused other players' voice chat to be heard at high volume on the airplane
  • Fixed a bug that caused breath gauge to be shown incorrectly in certain situations
  • Partially fixed a bug that caused a player to “die from falling” after getting stuck in buildings or vehicles
  • Fixed a bug that caused sound to stutter when many players are swimming
  • Fixed a bug that caused translucent crosshair to be shown on VSS scope
  • Fixed a bug that caused a player to go back into the REVIVE state when two players start the revive action and one cancels

Bah, second place in a 1 player game. I've had 3 or 4 wins in 2 player, yet to conquer 1 player :)

My heart rate increases big time when I get into the top 10 stage, like no other game has made me do.
