PLAYERUNKNOWN'S BATTLEGROUNDS - Thread

There are some great guides on YouTube about getting started.

Best tip I've found so far is to not spam use bandages - let them build up white over the bar, don't use then use the moment one has finished being applied. Wait for the bar to fill!

Start casting the new bandage after the 3rd tick of HP. You will apply the 2nd bandage just as the 5th tick of hp hits.

Bandages are so plentiful in this game, it's a non issue, further to that, drop bandages to make space for first aid kits.

If you don't spam them you only need half as many :) Heals the same amount in near identical time.

My point is, they're everywhere, i'm normally carrying about 40 by 5 minutes into the game :D

First aid kit does 75HP over a 7.5 second cast time, bandage heals 10HP over 3 seconds with a 4 second cast time, it's a no brainer. It's nowhere near an identical time.

I am referring to spamming bandages vs using them slower.

Just installing now. Any tips for a total novice?>

First order of priority is see who had jumped near you whilst your chuting. Remember roughly where they are.

Second order is to get weapons ASAP and defend yourself be aggressive if someone is near you (within 50m).

Third order is to find decent loot and a vehicle. 9 times out of 10 you will need a vehicle. Running everywhere is just time wasted that can be spent looting or defending your position.

Once you have decent weapons and ammo focus on meds. Not bandages but red bull, painkillers and first aids.

I think playing solo and duo is easier than playing squads too.

Least you're only running into 1 or 2 people at a time. With squads you could be running into 4

I've found so far there are two different play styles to the early game (first few minutes).

You either treat it as a survival game, try and land somewhere remote or land at a vehicle and drive off to an area unlikely to be inhabited and loot in relative safety, playing the game as sticking to the remote edges of each playzone.

Or, you treat it as random deathmatch. Jump in with everyone at a busy location and hope for the best. Duke out it with fists as soon as you land, expend every bullet you have from your first gun etc.

I find if I'm getting annoyed I'll choose the second option because it can be over so quickly, it's like any random FPS game then. You died in a minute? Oh well, queue again, rinse and repeat. It also greatly builds up your confidence in pushing people, listening out for footsteps, identifying the different gun sounds and mechanics. Once you've got that nailed, you can be a bit more confident pushing further and further out.

I've played 3 games so far and managed to get to 9th place in the 3rd. but the game is really laggy for me.
When ever I enter a house it totally bugs out.

What are the best settings to better performance? Running a half decent pc it should play the game no problems on high settings.

Also whats the red zone all about?

loving it so far.

Also is there any way to watch the rest of the match after you die?

You will get random lag, it probably isn't your machine.

Red zones are random bombing zones. I've been hit twice in 75 hours so don't worry. Use the noise as cover sound instead.

No spectator mode yet.

Best I've had so far is 7th, was doing well last game just managed to escape the blue zone fighting another guy when a 3rd guy hiding in a bush killed me :)

great game so far.

Finally broke my curse, hadn't had a solo win since the stats wipe, played a throwaway game with a scar with 30 rounds and an uzi with 45 rounds, no meds, just kept pushing the circle, two kills to clutch the win.

My PC should be more than adequate to run the game on Ultra, at first I did but then occasionally is would get severe fps drops. Now I play everything on low except draw distance which is set to medium. Fps drops can still go from 100+ to 30+ :( But that's the way it is and I reckon at some point the fps drops will be solved.
