PLAYERUNKNOWN'S BATTLEGROUNDS - Thread

Finally got some time to play this so bought it tonight. Any tips for an absolute noob?

Drop in hot to areas where a lot of people go,like the military base. Get used to shooting and being shot at. Then play how you like.

When I first started I didn't so would spend 15 minutes looting, run into a person and freak out lol

Good advice. I did the same, drop into quiet areas, wasted 20+ mins looting and sneaking around to get shot without firing a single bullet right near the end. Didn’t really get a feel for the gun play. Now I drop into the active areas, atleast I die nice and early and get a few shots off.

I drop into busy areas but now try to drop onto the rooftop of the taller buildings, it at least gives me a chance to grab a gun and load it before someone has dropped me with a frying pan.

For me, my gun play increased immensely after a few hours in faster firefights. The games would go quickly and I wouldn't rage half as much as I did before, when like your I'd die after 15 - 20 mins without firing a bullet. After my confidence grew I started playing as I used to, giving me much better results.

I'm still crap like :P

Had a cracking game of first person solo yesterday, after watching one of Breaks videos where he plays the bike game, if anyone pops shots at him he goes back and takes them out. Excellent fun. All was going well till I ran up to a tree to heal and someone was lying prone on the other side of the tree! I didn’t even see him till I looked back at the clip, so aye, can confirm shadows work now :|

its weird how your game play changes the more you play it.i used to go pochinky all the time.then when you realize that place is a big trap you go elsewhere.now i just drop school every time. if you get out alive you often have 3-4 kill min then continue with decent loot.pop over flats finish off any there then go where ever circle goes.only real place i don't like is military.

Well to be honest at 2k 1440 ultra I get a constant 60 FPS in the open but it does drop to around 45 fps in houses so its not a big deal , I'm just wondering if I upgrade to the i7 7700k will it keep it at 60 FPs inside buildings also ? & when does this new coffee chip come out ? I don't want to wait until next year.

Just lower some settings.. Shadows is the main culprit.

I wouldn't upgrade your PC solely for PUBG as the game is optimised like ****!

I went on holiday for 12 days and came back and they introduced leader boards for FPP, man my aim sucked. First 50 games I think I managed 20 kills it was frustrating. Slowly getting back in to the swing of things and managed a back to back chicken dinner on solo which I'm happy about, both games I had IMO god like loot, the Tommy gun with a silencer and the mini me with the silencer and 4x. One win was on the fog map so my setup was OP and the 2nd win I just played it well, only got 5 kills each game. Really love the game so much, not been as addicted to a game in years.

Trying to get some practice playing TPP so I dropped into the prison this morning. Got myself 5 kills which is my highest, so I was pleased with that.
May be on for a squad game or two this evening.

you will get a nice big jump.people hold onto 2500ks as if they the best thing since sliced bread.in many modern games there is massive differences in fps to modern cpus.when i first bench marked bf1 in 64 mp i knew the day of i5s were over. even though you should get a very nice boost i would wait for coffee lake tbh.so close now makes no sense to go 7700k when thats almost here.when you go here please post about how much better it is :p

pubg is a 2017 game you want modern gear.most people you see with performance issues are older pcs.it will be optimized but not by that much to make a 2011 cpu turn into a 2017 one lol.

Thanks for that. I did start off dropping in to outlying areas and struggling to find any decent loot. My best game was where me and two other guys dropped in to neighbouring buildings so I grabbed the first gun and went and took them out without even picking anything else up. Going aggressive in the first few minutes seemed to work well after that, although I haven't even broken a top 20 finish yet :p

hacking is very very low.battlefield for eg has about a 10-12 percent hackers in it.people love that this has less that 0.5 percent.worked it out near launch and as you may see i live playing it.cant say ive seen any blatant aimbotting.mostly people get killed by better people or silly moves then scream hacker. so its one of the biggest games ive come across with little or next to no one cheating.or so uncommon you wont have your game spoiled.

you get the odd bug but its pretty well polished for a early access.you wont be on a dayz sa spectrum of bugs just odd random stuff.

missing items or issues often are down to users pcs.generally slower pcs or older ones with mech drives.if you have a modern upto date clean pc you shouldnt have those issues.

spectator mode is a little behind or wrong of what you see. you get the gist but sometimes its a little behind or odd.

get the game sells the free crates it pays for itself.you will get a free game.by that you get free credit from playing .with that you get free boxes with gear in.you sell them unopened on steam market.you can get 5 or 6 a week if you play a lot or do well regular.50/60p a crate. 2 months thats game paid for.thats without game events which has crates unopened that sell for between £1.50-£2.50.so when they on you actually make money for playing a great game.you cant lose :p

cool thanks for the info. Is the game fully voiced chat? Including local and/or team? (local as in if you are very close to enemy you can hear their chat with squad?) Ive noticed in a few streams some seriously salty people. Not sure i could handle getting constantly screamed at lol.

I'm 500 hours in, maybe 3 times i'm 100% sure I got hacked. Had no texture issues in the last few hundred hours of play.

Anticheat...see my comment about hackers above, there will be a deathcam for solo only as in duo/squad it just gives advantage to surviving teammates.

Spectator mode is already there when you watch twitchers with custom servers, will have to wait for release to see what happens with that for joe public.

Yeah thats good that some kind of deathcam is in there. I take it in duo/squad when you get killed you dont get to spectate your body because i guess then you could tell your team where the enemy is or when he is looting your body?

Is there a report button btw? It would be nice if there was a sort of shadowplay report mode where you could upload the last 5 or 10 seconds of your gameplay for reporting for hacking/abuse etc etc.

Ctrl + T (voice) and Ctrl + M (Game) mute toggles are your friend in lobby/plane. Once you hit the ground turn them on again and you're good to go.

I would say having chat on all is worth the occasional salty player as too many people don't realise they're using ingame chat when they're developing their master flanking plan with their team mates :D.

the mute all game is a speaker saver or ear drum saver i should say.i have it re-binded to just one key.always mute as soon as in lobby and on plane until hit ground.

Just be careful you're not broadcasting your own voice in game!

Had my first fog game... and what do I loot... a Mini 14, 8x and suppressor - ended up using my ump the entire game as visibility is just bad.

I'm not a fan that you can't turn off fog games in options - they're just so bad and completely change the feeling of the game and basically means there is no point other than having close range weapons. Was a full squad game and we traversed most of the map and didn't even see a person till 12 alive...
