PLAYERUNKNOWN'S BATTLEGROUNDS - Thread

Maybe I should start playing with some other people, but all my friends are in the £27.99 is too much camp. since when is £10 the expected cost of a game? what are we playing on spectrums and C64s now? you just spent £700 on a GPU and you cant pay £30 for a game?

Maybe because they spent so much on the GPU means they have to budget elsewhere :p

I have to admit £10 actually is about the norm though. Not too many people purchase games straight away at release. After a few weeks or a month, they're usually available for around £10 on a key site, unless the title is a true AAA game.

huh? How is that even possible?

Fairly easy, 2 mates, on voice comms, run about together in solo. Gives them a 2 v 1 advantage in fights, both get up to high ranks because of the 2 v 1 in fights. In this particular instance, they were in a jeep together, I shot the driver dead and the passenger got out and killed me. Which was rather handy actually as the kill spam meant I got both their names and was able to report them both.

Not really true unless your scumming and buy grey market out of region codes & VPNing. PC gamers complain about consoles getting the focus from developers but refuse to pay more than £10 for a game, hardly a mystery the developers love the console market is it.

How do they ban for that, are game replays saved?

We used to do it on Playerunknowns ARMA 3 Battle Royale Mod based on player reports with sufficient video evidence or if any of the team spotted somebody doing it on a stream then we'd jump in game and spectate but that was probably what.. 800 concurrent players?

I just don't see them putting the time and effort required into properly enforcing it.
Hopefully more rewards in duo/squads will entice people not to be scumbags and play on the proper server types

Edited to make more sense!

I shadowplay record all my matches. So I have video proof of the two of them in the jeep.

They said initially that they would ban teamers, they even have a section on the official forums for reporting them. Hopefully they will be true to their word, look at the footage and ban.

How's the matchmaking work exactly, anyone know?
I've played quite a few duos/team games and ... there have been a few people killed outright, not knocked out - don't know if their teammate(s) were already dead, or is it possible they were just a single player in a duos / team game?

They aren't going to get banned for that and your shadowplay recording isn't going to be enough evidence anyway. I don't know of any company who bans players based on other players evidence outside of CS:GO where it's all quite a complex process with full recordings of each match and even then it's not down to a single individuals evidence, it'd be a recipe for disaster.

I'm only going on a quote from them where they said teaming would be bannable. Hopefully they will because I am sick of online cheating, the sort of person who cheats in an online game is a pure scum individual. Plain and simple. The two of them driving along together in a jeep is pretty concrete I'd say.

It's not exactly cheating though is it, they aren't using a program or exploiting the code in any way, just using what's available to them and measures will be brought in to prevent teaming. I don't see the point in it anyway as only 1 person can win at the end and there's a slim chance they'll be able to team together every round or be the final 2 remaining.

Its absolutely cheating, the game itself says no teaming as a rule. If you are breaking a rule, thats absolutely cheating. They dont need to be the final two, the fact that they can 2 v 1 people they encounter means they are both more likely to get higher in the rankings, even if they both finish 9th and 11th, thats higher than they may have done individually. They have gained an advantage by specifically breaking a game rule ( no teaming ) , thats cheating. You dont need a utility to count as cheating. Scum. Simple. Hopefully they will get their due punishment.

There is simply no need for it and they are fully aware of what they are doing. If they want to team together then they should duo, but of course that would mean facing off against other duos and losing their advantage. So tired of imbeciles in online gaming who cannot follow very simple and plain rules.
