PLAYERUNKNOWN'S BATTLEGROUNDS - Thread

Its absolutely cheating, the game itself says no teaming as a rule. If you are breaking a rule, thats absolutely cheating. They dont need to be the final two, the fact that they can 2 v 1 people they encounter means they are both more likely to get higher in the rankings, even if they both finish 9th and 11th, thats higher than they may have done individually. They have gained an advantage by specifically breaking a game rule ( no teaming ) , thats cheating. You dont need a utility to count as cheating. Scum. Simple. Hopefully they will get their due punishment.

There is simply no need for it and they are fully aware of what they are doing. If they want to team together then they should duo, but of course that would mean facing off against other duos and losing their advantage. So tired of imbeciles in online gaming who cannot follow very simple and plain rules.

I think you've said it yourself, yes they're breaking a rule but rule breaking and cheating aren't the same thing.

We are at an impasse then because in my book, rule breaking to gain an advantage, is the very definition of cheating. We will just have to agree to disagree. As I say, they say that they will ban teamers, so hopefully they will stand by that and ban the 2 players in question.

The game isn't ready yet, but that doesn't mean it isn't worth £27, I'm glad I bought it and no you can't get it cheaper elsewhere, if you like what you see then buy it, it's 27quid, you've bought worse.

Agreed - I've got 15 hours in this already - that's a bargain at £27!!

There is loads of scope in this - finished 2nd in a squad match earlier, heart pounding finish stuck in a building with nades flying in the windows - snipers on the hill outside - shotguns going off......crazy stuff!

£24 on some sites not sure if that's "legal" or not though.

I can easily see me getting my monies worth from this even in it's current state.

I need to play with the graphic settings currently just slightly better than a slideshow :(.

Love the absolute panic of getting hit and trying to work out where the sod that just shot you is :D.

I guess everybody's idea of what represents value for money is different. For £27 I'd be expecting 100+ of hours of fun.

I paid £34 for Overwatch and haven't got close to getting £34 worth out of that game. Played about 10-15 hours I think.
Conversely I paid ~£20 for Diablo 3 and have played that for a hundred+ hours.

I'm already really happy with the fun I have had out of it and expect many more hours to come. Currently sitting at 53 hrs.

that's not a bad start. I wouldn't feel completely ripped off if I could rack up 53 (enjoyable) hours.
I just worry it's a game I'll enjoy watching more than playing.

Maybe I'll wait 6-9 months and see what state it's in then. Maybe it'll be in the Steam Christmas sale.

EDIT: Would also give it chance for the playerbase to pick up too.

How's the games performance at the moment? I'm running a fx8350 and two r9 290's in crossfire, I'm assuming crossfire isn't supported, how many frames am I likely to get?

Am running a i7 3770k @4.2 with a 290 @1050/1250 @1440p Texture, Foliage, View Distance all on Ultra rest of the settings on Low and I avg around 50fps playable for now but we should start getting performance updates soon.

Everyone is so used to getting games on sales, it seems like a lot - anyone remember pre-steam days lol. Wandering into a shop and laying down 40 quid?

Im sitting on 21 hours and couldnt be happier with the buy, going to be playing this for a long time. Had three awful games last night where I got the drop on players and completely fluffed it, headshots are crucial in this game and my fps skills are just not polished enough yet to land those so was a bit peeved. Then did a top 3 with four kills which is my best result yet so was happy with that. Currently cant connect to any games meh, but this one is worth the cash imho.

I agree, I'm surprised so many are baulking at a £27 price point, especially considering some of the dross that we buy for £40 and stuff that isnt even 1/10th as much unadulterated fun as this game is. Its not the most stunning graphics in a game, its not the most stunning sound fx or music in a game, its not the most stunning control system in a game but its got bucketloads of what many other games simply forget to include, FUN.

Including my beta weekend time, I am now at 85 hours played. I would pay £27 for 85 hours of a game every day, at the drop of a hat, and thats without all the hours that I have yet to play.

Anyone having difficulty getting into a server this morning? I need to quickly to screenshot some artefacts I'm getting, but cannot get past the 'Matching' stage...

I have I7 4790, 980ti, 16gb ram and the games installed on ssd. On Ultra the fps in the pre game area is 43-50, in plane its 30-39 on the ground its 43-49 and inside its35-41. I've dropped it to high with draw on ultra and I get about an extra 10 fps. Before I turned on the fps counter the game seemed to drop fps on ultra but on high it seemed smooth, until I turned on the fps I could not tell if I was getting fps drops.
