PLAYERUNKNOWN'S BATTLEGROUNDS - Thread

Oh dont get me wrong, H1Z1 isnt dying. Its still doing fine, my point was merely that one is noticeably growing, a growth which only seems to be increasing, and the other isnt really significantly increasing and has plateaued. Hence I think its only a matter of time now before Battlegrounds overtakes H1Z1 in terms of activity

Just shows tho, that if a decent solid game comes out word spreads amongst clans/friends who in turn buy it.

I downgraded my internet to 30mb. Could the fact my wife and daughters who watch the ipad/stream TV be the reason I'm losing connection/dropping out?

My office now has about 5 of us playing it. Ontop of that the two other people I know who own gaming pcs have also bought it.

As a solo game its great, as a team game its even better.
 
I had a couple of crashes last night too. Not had one before.

They really need to tone down the footsteps a bit, it's really difficult to know if they are close or far.

Thats my only major complaint at the moment, I would like the footsteps to be put back to how they were. For me, a large part of the game was to be stealthy, sneaking about and catching people unawares, its now almost impossible to do that as every step sounds like an entire platoon marching on a carpet of hula hoop crisps.
 
Hmmmmmm then I'm really really **** off at the Dev's.... 90% of the time the game freezes and crashes out. This NEVER happened before the last patch.

Guess it is to be expected from a EA title. I think they were being too optimistic with their 6 month timetable.

Hopefully the monthly patch will resolve a lot of this.

Agreed I prefer the original hard to hear one. I get the impression that sound isn't affected by walls. Despite everything sounding great it's almost impossible to sound whore now :(.
 
One thing I will never understand about online gamers, why the need to cheat? Crouched inside a bathroom, no lag, door shut, facing the door, no windows. Some guy with a Scar shoots and kills me from outside the building somewhere. I mean, honestly, why? What do losers like that get out of it? I swear, anyone who cheats in an online game really needs a swift knife across the throat and expulsion from the human race. Scum, every one of them.
 
having my fair share of issues with either hanging mid game but lets me run about but not open doors n pick up stuff (like desync) or after exiting to the lobby game fails to get to the lobby and I end up killing the task and reloading.

Can't see the attraction of cheating.. your only cheating yourself.

So you'd summarily execute someone for cheating in a video game? Think you need to go out and get some fresh air man.

Too right I would. If they are the sort of person who will cheat in one aspect of life, then they are the sort of person who will cheat in others.

I know, people always tell me that after 30 years of gaming I should be used to cheats by now but I'm just so sick and tired of them that I simply have no boundaries to what I would do to one now. Wipe the scum off the planet.
 
I doubt they were cheating - if your crouched down near the wall, at the moment you can see someones gun sticking out through the wall a lot of the time. So he probably saw that a sprayed.

Couldnt have been that, I was crouched in the centre of the bathroom, I've seen the gun through the wall thing so I knew not to stand too close to the walls just in case, also I was facing the doorway rather than a wall.
 
Some floors don't seem to stop bullets. I do occasionally shoot up when I know someone is there. Since all the buildings are clones it's quite easy to work out where someone may be camping above you.

There are some very suspicious players around though so could have been a cheater. Battleye doesn't appear to be very effective at the moment.

I was on the ground floor so he couldnt have shot up, I suppose he could have shot down through the ceiling though, although the shots sounded like they came from outside rather than above and I wasnt moving around so not sure how he even knew I was in there.

Just got in on this, first impressions after only playing a one round.
I can see me putting a fair bit of time into it, had no idea what i was doing so my first round goes a little something like this.
Floating down i could watch where everyone was going, so i slowly picked a nice isolated landing spot, found a a weapon and ammo and some very basic Armour.
I played it very cautiously at first, didnt take long to hear the first gun shots in the distance, hold up in a house, let things soak make sure i didnt have a tail, when i was confident there was nobody following me, legged it in the low ground to the next compound of buildings.
Slowly but surely as the play area shrunk i'd start seeing people being chased and gunned down, im sitting on the roof of a building getting ready to make my next move when i spot someone about 50m out running at the building but he hasnt spotted me, instead he has nicked the car downstairs *phew*.
So player area shrinking again i move it up, about 30m infront of me a player pops out dosnt see me, bring my rifle up, 4 shots and boom hes down, i get a bit ballsy start making bigger strides. Another player in the open, two shots, one his the other misses, he bolts then makes the mistake of coming back, sloppy shooting but i get him down in half a mag. More ballsy yet i move up in the open 25..24..23 players left wow these guys are dropping fast! i hear a big firefight up ahead, i sprint for it i want in on this! someone else had the same idea... as i appraoch the crest of a little hill I hear a few pops off to the right, i turn and just as i get my sights on him he sees me, i get two shots on target but hes much more accurate, 12th place, and smiling.

I really enjoyed my first experience, still a but rough but still in a good place for an "Alpha".
Would love to play more but i really should get on with starting my WC build... here goes!
