Playstation 4 being announced February 20th?

It will have an optical drive otherwise they would lose access to a huge share of the world market who don't have decent internet speeds (which includes a lot of the uk).

Hope it does, but you know what sony is like. Cosy cutting will be the primary factor.

Shame they haven't gone for x64 architecture, would have pushed games on the PC making use of multiple cores.

Eh? x64 processors ARE x86  and it IS making use of multiple cores, 8 of them.

U never know. iTunes have done well to force people to download all there media.phone and devices are all slowly relying on the cloud as well

Just noticed all the screen tearing on the watchdogs vid :(

Although the ubisoft guy just admitted that everything shown in the video was running from off the shelf pc hardware.

looking good for us :)

I don't understand the fuss about Blizzard - the latest diablo wasn't up to standard, Starcraft didn't really change much from the original. Blizzard are a pretty boring dev nowadays.

They have a massive fanbase regardless of your personal opinion of their games. A partnership with Sony is something of a coup for sure.

Really surprised by some of the negativity, you can't expect a company to release every single detail on a product so early. Basis a release at the end of the year they need to keep people's interest, they've got 3 or 4 shows to fill by then.

If they wanted to show everything, Naughty Dog would have been there with Uncharted 4, but they'll keep that one for E3, same with God of War etc.

My fear was they were going to do stupid things to appeal to the casuals, from that there is no evidence and would suggest they are retargeting the core gamers.

Hat's off for them coming out first, someone had to make the move to get the next gen kick started. I'm glad it's been done sooner rather than later.

I guess it shows how much the current gen consoles have been holding back PCs.

Pc tech is already ahead of these upcoming consoles albeit at a higher price point. At least the Pc games will improve but I can't imagine anything really pushing anything with an Intel cpu and 79xx or 6xx GPU's.

I imagine current gen Pc's will still be held back by the next gen consoles.

I don't think we watched the same announcement? Core gamers do not play wii dancing games, or sculpt clay. Or worry too much about facebooking whiple playing.

I wouldn't call it early either. How many consoles will they have to pump out between now and November? And we have yet to actually see the console.
