Playstation Plus

Thankfully I'm paid up until October 2019. Keep an eye out going forward for Black Friday, Cyber Monday, Christmas for the £30 deals I'm sure.
So long as the games stay as good as the past two months then I can accept the increase.

I'd probably resub if PS now got included but there are still two problems -

i) there are loads of PS3 games still missing
ii) the service is not available in all countries where PS+ is

I also find it hard that to believe they will be giving you unlimited access as that is a £13 cost reduced to effectively less than £1.

I'm hoping it does happen though.

post brexit everything's gone up in price. Yes it's annoying that it's gone up by a tenner but i'm astounded at the number of people who are saying "right that's it, i'm cancelling, screw sony". Aren't you guys gamers who enjoy your ps4 and the online experience?

What else are you going to spend that extra 83pence on per month that will give you as much potential enjoyment?

Think about your weekly shop...your visit to the pub, the cost of travel and petrol...ah screw it, let's just call it the cost of living shall we. It's going up and unfortunately, due to the calamity that is brexit, it's going up faster than we might otherwise be used to.

Fair enough if you basically never play online and were perhaps thinking of not bothering with ps plus next renewal any way, but a lot of people (i don't necessarily just mean here by the way) seem to be wildly over reacting to <£1 per month dent to their wallets.

@snow patrol, personally I'd find it very hard to give up PS+ since I usually game quite a lot online or whenever I feel like it. As well as the PS+ games, so many I've downloaded and still to play. PS4 and PS3.

Boycotting wont change them as they're competing with Xbox. Sadly it is a cartel with most things, pay up and shutup or be without online access and behind the scenes sulk. Or like most will do, they'll pay it, bitch for a while until it becomes the new normal. More like Sky prices each year. The same discussions.

Well my PS plus expired the day before the announcement.

I'm not renewing. Bye Sony!

mine still has a few months left but unless they pull a surprise out the bag I wont be renewing, they had 18 months for about £35 on amazon prime day that I passed on as I wasn't sure it was worth a purchase given the lack of play my PS4 gets (and when it does its 90% offline)

I will add the caveat that recently I have been playing (and loving) persona 5 which has minimal online components but not something that is game changing.

Snow patrol your currancy drop point would be valid if you were paying for a physical game or console but Plus is an electronic service and the servers are probably abroad so I fail to see were the extra 25% expense is.

Bearing in mind it was worth it when it was voluntary as there were some decent free content and the cloud saves and discount but when it became obligatory for online gaming the content became poor in my opinion.

You can get Live and EA Access together without to much searching online for a similar price and I think this is a bit of a dick move.

Well, if the servers are abroad and the currency drops then that would explain a price increase, no?

Why? If the servers were in the UK then maybe the rise in electricity prices would justify a rise.

PS Plus is a service that was good when there was a choice but now they have everyone who plays online over a barrel.

Hopefully they can start giving some decent games for it, it looks like EA access on Live will be adding BF1 and Titanfall 2 soon.

I will have to get it renewed and file it under first world problems but hope that Xbox don't follow suit.

Funny, I used to remember Playstation was great since so many told me how good it was they could play online versus Xbox Live. Now is there any difference at all between Xbox and Playstation to play online? £49.99 a year then say purchase Destiny 2, look at that price. That is if you don't go for the super duper ultra deluxe version. That so many of those border on £80. ;)

I don't think it's suddenly terrible value. But having recently bought a Switch and not using the PS4 as much....this price hike couldn't have come at a worse time for me as a consumer

25% more for a service I dont use anyway? No thanks. I only played 1 game that required PSPlus in the last 6 months so no big loss.

I would have just renewed at the previous cost but will just wait until there is a game I actually want to play online now. I expect destiny 2 will have people begrudgingly paying for a while.
