***** PlayStation Vita Official Thread *****

I agree with this, the major point of the VITA was the dual analogue sticks for FPS on the move gaming, however nothing really takes that to the intended level right now, UNIT 13 comes close but doesn't have that right feeling of a FPS. XBOX had HALO, PS3 had Resistance but the VITA really was missing that good FPS launch title.

That could be because it isn't a FPS its a third person tactical shooter!

The 360 had no decent FPS games at launch at that succeeded more than anyone ever expected lol

And the main point in the Vita was not on the move FPS games lol. It's a next gen portable device that is supposed to support out standing games (which it does) but also intergrate itself into most aspects of your digital life (Vita=Life)

Anyway Sony WILL push the Vita and it will remain strong and have a great lifespan. Sony don't plough money in to consoles to let them slide. They are one of the leading console developers and will not relinquish that role probably ever, especially when it is so lucrative so the Vita will not go down the same route as the Dreamcast

The Vita hasn't been out long and there are so many triple A quality games coming so why people are being so sceptical about a console thats only been out basically 2 months in the UK and US and not much longer in Japan is beyond me.

Just stick with it people the games are coming and when Assassins Creed, Bioshock, Resistance, Killzone, MGS, Little Big Planet, GTA ect come you'll be so happy you did :)

Can anyone recommend one of the Patapon games? I like the look of them but not sure if any of the three in particular is the one to get.

And I still love my Vita - even after getting the new iPad.

I really want to get a vita, have a tablet and phone to play games on but I miss buttons...

One of the problems is I'm used to paying so little for Android games not fussed on paying £30+ for them on the Vita... How is the PS store for cheap games and has this Android/Vita crossover gone ahead, can I get Android games on Vita?

You can get some like Angry Birds etc. But there mostly around the 5.00 mark.

Can you get Angry Birds on Vita?

I don't think it is planned for Android stuff to run on VITA? Are you thinking of PS Suite which is an initiative to get certain PS software on certain Android devices?

I left my charger and USB lead at my second work place which I'm not due at now for a month. Balls.

Will have to pop down one night when it's quiet.

Please can someone step by step link me to how to restore factory settings on my Vita so I can login as an US account?

Im assuming I have to backup my memory card first?

Was going to get Vita in US but then if I had a dead pixel or whatever I'd be screwed for taking it back etc. Waiting for a price drop and more RPG's so I guess time is on my side there.
Can I play my PS1 classics on there like FFVII etc?

I've played angry birds on my psp it looks nice, on ps3 it looks upscaled and blurry.

I'm confused how these minis games will operate on VITA, considering they were designed for PSP/PS3 (both non touchscreen platforms)?

Nope. "When?" is the million dollar question. I am sure they could throw enough resources at it to have it working tomorrow (considering how few PS1 classics exist compared to the original disc games). Why they don't just enable this now, whilst there is a drought on new VITA games, is anybody's guess! The only reason I can think of is that most people will be wanting to play games they already bought on PS3/PSP which means no new money for Sony (I can think of other reasons, but this seems most likely imo).

Think I might go out and get one of these tomorrow, what games do you recommend?

Motorstorm RC is a great bite sized game, with fast loading times, if you are going to use the VITA whilst commuting it is ideal. Really cheap as well. Also I can not get enough of Lumines: Electronic Symphony, but it is a bit pricey. Again, a great time passer.

Yeah MS and stardust are also great, as are Rayman and Mutant Blobs actually. Very strong launch line-up.
