Popped out and got one and its nice but am a little disappointed, firstly the lack of internal memory is annoying meaning I have to buy proprietary memory cards hooray, load times are a little slow with constant please wait screens popping up.

On the other hand wipeout looks stunning and rayman is beautiful. Its also nice to be playing games with physical buttons.

So I was bored the other night and bough Angry Birds, it looks terrible, its slow, and it doesn't use touchscreen.

Mega dissapoint.

Well if you are playing Wipeout then I agree, the load times are terrible.

New firmware should be live now v1.65

US Blog said:
The next PS Vita System Software Update (v1.65) will be released soon and will include the following minor enhancements:
A “Notification Alert” option will be added to Settings, so you can toggle alerts on or off
“After 10 minutes” will be added to the time options under Power Save Settings
An Arrow icon will now appear when PS Vita finds new activities in the LiveArea
Caps Lock will be supported in the On Screen Keyboard

Also the second Motorstorm RC festival is out this week priced the same as the last one, no word yet on PS+ discount.

Also Escape plan will be getting a patch and free DLC on April 10th adding 19 new rooms.

I Hope there more then just that in the new firmware :(

A few people have reported it being a very fast download and install, the UI feeling a bit better, being able to turn trophy notifications off (you still get the sound), also downloads continue if YOU put the Vita to sleep (previously they would stop and only continue if it fell asleep on its own), Near seems to be working for more people, also you can now update whenever you like rather than only every x minutes, also when something is installing you get a progress bar.

So it seems that as is always the case, what they tell you is new isn't ALL that is new/fixed. Who knows what else they've tweaked that we don't know about.

I get "The latest version of the system software is already installed. (C3-12049-6)" when checking for updates via WiFi.

Has anyone here actually got the update yet?

Oh dear warriors lair has lost its developer, hope someone scoops it up was interested in this one :(

Sounds like it's been passed over to Sony San Diego while Idol Minds work on Rachet HD

Hopefully this will speed up development if nothing else....

On a separate note, if anyone else suffers with cramp using the Vita I can highly recommend a grip, got one for £3 and now I'm able to play for a much longer time. Only downside to the one I got is that it doesn't clip onto the Vita.
