***** PlayStation Vita Official Thread *****

Bought borderlands 2 the other day. It's only 20 quid on the PS store which i think is quite good.

As for the game, i think it is absolutely fine. I suppose if you have pumped a hundred hours into the big console version you will find all the limitations, but i haven't so i find it fine tbh.

You may have problems later on when it starts to crash every once in a while, just try not to rush through areas/menus and it should reduce the chance of it happening. I would say wait for the next patch as hopefully that will improve things but if you're not having any problems at the moment, crack on I guess.

I wish the frame rate was a bit higher in the game tbh, I would sooner they reduce detail further to get near constant 30fps. Even with the above considered its still a good game and its also excellent value for money with all the content included. I've seen a few reviews complain about the controls, I fiddled about with mine a bit from the default settings(I prefer to not use the rear touchpad) but I find the controls fine, i'm just too used to using a mouse + keyboard for aiming.

I prefer my hacked original PSP. I can do a lot of things since making a pandora's battery and a magic memory stick. PS Vita is good, but the game library isn't very large.

It is large for indie stuff if you want to take that route. As for AA titles it is small but Sony have now stated the Vita will be Indie focused mainly from now on.

I'd love to own one, but It would be the game library that stops me. I could just download a PS Vita emulator for my phone and use the ROMs (ISOs/CSOs) to play on it. I've read up somewhere there is a such thing as a PS Vita emulator, although I don't know how stable it actually is.

I don't see how people can complain about the game library, not a lot of amazing first party titles but more than enough to make it worth owning and then some

either is the PSP but its hard to compare a hacked device full of roms and emulators to a standard unhacked handheld

i loved my PSP but without the ability to play games for consoles other then the PSP it was lacking in games too, it had a lot of games but many of them were mediocre cut down console versions.

and to be fair if you had downloaded the PSP games from PSN instead of pirating them you would be able to play all of them on your vita

btw the PSP emulator still struggles on most phones so good luck with a vita emulator :)

So we finally picked up a copy of Borderlands 2 for the Vita. Think the reviews were overly harsh on this game, it looks and feels great on Vita. Have to wonder what people expect for a handheld gaming device tbh. Lot's of unjust criticism in reviews imho.

We picked up Child of Light as well, read lot's of good things about it. Preferring the Vita to my other gaming stuff atm.
