Plusnet Discussion Thread

Yep, I have this and it's excellent. Nabbed it for £99 though, not seen it that cheap since.

Absolute crud, I'm gonna switch.
I'm fortunate that I haven't been moved over to the new network yet. The issue I've had over the last week where my speeds have dropped in the evening from 70 Mb/s to as low as 1.5 Mb/s seems to have been resolved thankfully. I'm hoping they fix the issues with the new network before I get moved to it. One person I spoke to knew about the problems they were having with it, the other person knew nothing and insisted it was perfectly fine!

i recently signed up with the unlimited broadband, its been totally shocking, randomly stops working a lot. i am in the process of upgrading to fibre for £7.50 a month for 18 months. hopefully this will fix the problem but i am not hopeful.

I've always had a static IP with them and haven't had any packet loss problems.

I can understand them having an issue on part of their network. What seems bizarre is how long the problem has been going on.

They assigned me a static IP about 2 hours ago and since then i've been at 0% packet loss.

I was told that getting a static IP wouldn't stop you being moved to the new network. I wonder if there's another reason it would prevent all the crazy packet loss people are getting?

I do generally like Plusnet as an ISP. For what I pay the service is more than adequate.

I have however resisted their attempts to get me recontract for what I considered a too small discount. Having the option to jump ship whenever I want is nice.

Since cancelling, I've had another bill through (bill date was after the service ceased). I've raised with it them twice and have now received threats of debt collectors.

I've told them to sort it within 7 days otherwise I'll raise it with Ofcom.

Shame as the actual service over 4 years with PN has been faultless.

Coming from BT infinity to now plusnet cant say i am that impressed.

Have to restart my Tp link modem more, and general speed is not as good as before.

I suppose it will all be fixed soon.

Bit of a thread hijack but whats peoples opnions on plusnet? Currently with BT infinty2 and its costing me around £54 a month I can get same package with plusnet for around £29 a month after cashback etc

Its a good saving , more worried and about service than price at this stage

In 18 month of service I've only experienced one previous network drop off but this morning was very slow with the maintenance. So generally I'm happy as the throughput hasn't dropped below the max 76 mbps otherwise in my area.

Only problem today is I have a moderate crypto miner setup running and of course it can't mine without an internet connection. I'm able to monitor it's progress via an app and it's currently zero :(

So this isn't exactly the 6 hours of work they are stating on the website unfortunately.

I was only considering the Vodafone deals recently due to the zero line rental offer with a contract but this isn't helping so I'll see how they handle it.
