Question is, would I still be getting these speeds later on?

If you were talking about peak hours in this evening between 7pm and 11pm - surely it should be ok. I had no issues in the last two weeks now as BT had finally resolved core network congestion issues fixed. You should expect the same speed what u are getting now.

Morning Guys,

So i got my fibre upgrade last week and ive really been struggling with Wi-fi.

The PN router is only giving me 20-25mb over wifi, hardwired im getting 70ish.

Ive had a second router from PN and tried an older belkin. At best im getting upto
30mb.

have done the usual, cycled through all wifi channels, tried with just a single device etc.

i don't mind buying a decent router - if it will cure the problem.

Anyone have any suggestions please?

Thanks

A

I get full 80/20 on FTTC, Asus RT N66u. Not with PN yet, migration day is this Friday. :D

Is the router 2.4 or 5Ghz?

For example, I get about 25-30 on my S4 and Note 10.1 2014 via 2.4, but over 5G its almost full speed, around 70-74. :)

Thanks V_R i think its only going to be a 2.4, the speeds you talk about are what im currently getting
even when sat in the same room as the router with minimal interference etc.

Think its time for an upgrade to a 5hz

Thanks

A

Mine is Netgear DGND3700v2 and it had both 2.4 & 5.0 GHz wifi. Both is no issues on wireless as here is speedtest below (2.4 GHz):

5.0GHz wifi:

FFS im getting so annoyed.

Just picked up a TP Link N600

and no matter what i do,on which device i cant get anywhere near a good speed.

2.4 and 5.0 make no difference in speed for me.

All i can get is 28ish down and 17 up

Im really loosing the will to live with this.

Thanks for the stats

So, who has experience with OpenReach removing line banding?

Long story short, a line fault that stems back to the original installation nearly 6 months ago has FINALLY been resolved. Unfortunately after a day or two of elevated speeds, the line has dropped back to a profile that it was before the fault was fixed.

PN have advised they're requesting for the banding to be taken off. Does this entail an engineer visit or can OR do it 'remotely'? It's not the same as resetting the DLM, is it? I know that does involve a visit...

If it does need an engineer, that'll be the 10th!

I get the same results on htc one and one x both on 5g.

Are you sure ipad limits wifi as a friend sent me ss from their iPhone 5
At 99meg on their virgin connection

Cheers
