Just signed up to the 40/10 deal, lets see how it goes. Sky ***** me around something chronic when I got LLU...
 
got the 40/20 fttc installed yesterday paying £10 per month for 18 months as I am existing customer. Cant fault PN...all ways been great with me.

I'm thinking about moving from Sky ADSL2 to PlusNet Fibre cos of the current cashback deal.
I'm about 250m from the cabinet.
The BT checker says I should get 65mb down, but PN and Sky say 47mb. Talktalk estimate 65mb. Is this just PN being conservative with their estimates?

I think so. I'm just moving from BT Infinity 2 (currently 74mb down) and PN are estimating 65mb down when I go to them later this month.
 
Looks like PN are estimating on the 'Low' side of the BT checker.

Anyway they said it was OK to move to 40mb package if it doesn't pan out.
 
Anyone's dropped out tonight?

Not even a DSL light on modem , no internet light on router, totally dead.

Was okay this morning, got home and totally dead.

How did you manage that? I called them a while ago about moving from ADSL to Fibre, tried to get them to match one of their deals for new customers but they weren't having any of it :confused:
 
Checked to see if my local box had been upgraded to fibre enabled and it has! Booked in for the upgrade week after next. Should be a lot faster than the current adsl. Will make netflix work a bit better on a Friday night I hope. I'm in a highly competitive area so it is £5.99 per month.
 
My cabinet in my little village finally went live sometime today / yesterday (been checking the openreach website everyday :O ) Gone and ordered plusnet with the £105 cash back from topcashback. Estimated 80mb/s cant wait for it to be all done being on 5mb/s is killing me!
 
Had PlusNet FTTC installed this morning. I'm out in a village and still 1.5km from my green cabinet. Estimates showed 14 to 20mb but I've been on to PlusNet Support as I'm only getting 7.4Mbps. Apparently BT haven't updated my ip profile and the BT wholesale checker only shows max achievable as 7.68Mbps (still the old 'up to 8mb' profile).
Been told to wait 24hrs to see if it updates, bit of a disappointment really :mad:
