Leaving plusnet for Zen next week - hoping to see better ping graphs than this

But main reason I'm leaving is because I can have multiple static IPs on Zen - plusnet have been ok.

Caused by your router, IMO.

It's under £9 more for the AC56U delivered, it's got faster wifi (AC1200 vs 900), a better CPU (dual core 800mhz vs single core 600mhz) and is ARM rather than MIPS. Sometimes being that tight isn't a good thing.

I didn't even look at the AC56U or else I would have considered it :( I'm not so tight that I wouldn't have noticed that's a much better looking deal :p To be fair I think information overload is what's done me in the end although I am totally happy with the N66U It has had the desired effect ;)

Almost everyone posting about the N66U has nothing but trouble free user experience which is a good start when making a decision.

We now get WIFI in the shed around the back and we haven't had a single connection drop or anything since the upgrade! A+ connection.

While on the subject of routers ;) Can the Technicolor TG582n be set up as a repeater /access point? I wouldn't mind having it setup downstairs :p

Currently with BT 80/20 - paying £22 a month + line rental...

I have been having issues with Fifa which Im not sure if its BT related...

PlusNet have offer on for £5 for 6 months and £14.99 thereafter.... + line rental

Ive heard PlusNet are owned by BT - so will it not just be same kind of issues with Fifa?

That's only for 40/2 Mb/s. Plusnet only offer decent upload speeds on their top-tier 80/20 Mb/s package, which is usually £20/mo but £10/mo for the first six months.

Not sure of the legalities but all FTTC will be using the same hardware up to a point, you'll just be on a different network depending on ISP. It's worth investigating your current issue before simply jumping ship IMO.

I switched from BT to plusnet and FIFA improved for me, still get some laggy games though which are unavoidable due to opponent location/crap internet themselves.

I checked the hops to EA servers and they changed with plusnet.

Went through quidco - hopefully getting £75 off

Went for the 40/2 fibre - 40 meg download is more than enough for me :)

Hopefully fifa will play better (but im not holding my breath!)

Transfer in 14 days.... anything I need to do or prepare for?

Getting the Plus One Router - is it any good?

I've had my Quidco from plusnet every time without issue. For the Hub One look at the HH5a as it's basically a re-brand job after BT took over. Personally i'd not be using it for any length of time after install, but that's just me.

what would u recommend to use ?

Depends on what you want it to do :)

I knew I wanted to run a DDWRT/Tomato based firmware so I had a look at Shibby and Merlin's support list as I knew i'd need to go with a dedicated modem so I got an ECi /r and an HG612 modem and chose the AC56U as it has the same RAM/ROM/CPU as the AC68 but was at the time considerably cheaper and the only meaningful difference is AC1200 vs AC1900 and 2x2 mimo vs 3x3 mimo which won't be an issue for me as i'll likely add Unifi AP's at a later date (turns out next week).

If you prefer a single box i'd be looking at the TP Link VR200/VR900 or Netgear D7x00 series.

Been running fibre with Plusnet for nearly three years now. 40/20 for £10 a month. It has been rock solid. Never drops from 37+/18+. Smooth even when downloading for hours on end.

Definitely a single box I think - something which is stable and long wireless range would be good.

Yep, I basically looked at the TP-Link VR900, Netgear D7000, and the Asus DSL-AC68U I think. In the end I went for the TP-Link because the other two had a fair amount of people complaining about drops and/or firmware issues, plus the TP-Link was on sale for £99. :D

Anyone having problems with their connection? Today at some point mines gone mental and dropped significantly :( I usually get a steady connection but not today.

I've been lucky to get 10-15 Mbps download and 1 Mbps upload :(

My normal connection is around this below, Which is acceptable ;) We are far from the exchange.

Download speedachieved during the test was - 45.5 Mbps
For your connection, the acceptable range of speedsis 33.19 Mbps-47.42 Mbps .
Additional Information:
IP Profile for your line is - 47.42 Mbps

Upload speed achieved during the test was - 6.93Mbps
Additional Information:
Upstream Rate IP profile on your line is - 20 Mbps

I've been having a nightmare with connectivity to iPlayer and prime since Thursday. Line speed is good, but somethings not right. I used wired connections from the tv too.
