If it was a roll of cash, chance are it would be a ***** so they wouldn;t have missed it anyway............

IMO you'd have to be a very very dark person, at this time of year and in this climate not to hand it in. Sad to see the vote at the moment shows that most wouldn't do the right thing :(

I would take it and I am not a very very dark person as you say.

Now if i saw someone drop it, then I would give it bacik to them.

I would not just give it to some random clerk.

if its just CASH then its yours....

if its a wallet with an ID so you can see who it belongs to, than hand it in..

how the hell do you prove youve lost X amount of CASH? you cant, surely random tramps who dress up go into lost and found non-stop making up stories?

lost like £80 once, good night :D but i didnt check lost and found, its my mistake i shouldnt get soo drunk, whoever found it deserves it, its their luck, and my bad luck.

But just imagine the happiness you could buy out of that money?

And they will ask for how much you have lost. How many notes, which type of notes, what day you lost it, where you lost it etc.

Would you not be better giving it to charity then

I'll do with my money what I like, but not other peoples. It is there money, they dropped it and they deserve it back, like has been said you'll feel much better if you hand it in, if they dont claim it you get it. But to just take it is horrid IMO

If the person really wanted the money it would be in a secure pocket or wallet , since they couldn't be trusted to look after the money i say they can not be trusted to spend the money.

They *should* but often don't my dad is terrible for it. Should he have no chance to get his money back because he's just getting on a bit?

I handed it in. The woman behind the counter just took my name and number on a scrap of paper. She said she'd ring if no-one claimed it. (no she wasn't fit)

when I paid I popped back and asked her if anyone came for it. she said they did.
shesaid the guy was gonna ring me to say thanks - no one ever called

I'm beginning to think she could have just pocketed it herself!

worse outcome ever.

I'd have handed it in, no way I could live with the guilt of having effectively stolen £200 from someone. As said earlier, handing it in to the police would have been the best option, but I probably would have told the supermarket that I found some money, and if anyone came asking about it to tell them they could get it back from the police, win win!

Hand it in, I don't see how anyone can be pleased with themselves for pocketing it even if the police / woman behind the counter would do exactly that after you gave it to them.

Beh, cancer of society etc. Do the right thing and hand it in, it's hard enough to get up in the morning as it is.

I would probably keep anything 50 or below.

But anymore money and i would hand in :)

£200 could be a month's food for someone.

but if he walked out of the store to hand it in to the police station the next day....would he still not be seen as a thief leaving the store with the money without reporting it ?(if he were to be seen on cctv picking it up).

Hand it in, then claim if its owner doesn't come forward.

I recently lost a pair of expensive headphones at my gym. No one handed them in. What a ****.
