Pokemon GO! (2016)

If you have battery saver enabled make sure you don't touch the screen until it turns back to the map fully.

Touching it before it comes back fully makes the app stop responding to inputs until you restart it.

Yes that happened to me today.

I've been using the app 4 days and according to my battery usage over the last 7 days it has used up 86% it is brutal on battery consumption even in power saving modes.

In regards to usage, dors anyone know how heavy it is on data usage?

Ok so i live in the sticks, decided to whip the phone out a few times on me bike ride.. there is no pokemon in the mountains man... and when it says there was a few nearby nothing popped up! :( Raging. Anyone caught any out and about thats not in the towns/cities? Thought id clean up at a mountain lake haha.

Its **** in more remote locations.

It depends on how populated an area is. Less populated areas will have less pokemon, while cities will be swarming in them. I went to my country park near my home and there was hardly any pokemon, where as going to Hyde park, I was running into them one after the other. Luckily there was loads of pokestops as well so didn't run out of pokeballs :p.

They should really change that though, in the original games you go off to far locations to catch rare pokemon.

EDIT: Apparently the app has used 300mb so far since I installed it on the 6th. I think my 2GB package is just enough to cover it :p.

I'm on a 2GB plan and been using constantly for the last 3 days. I yet have to receive a warning on my usage. According to my iPhone stats (and note I have been using it since Friday Afternoon constantly inc Sat & Sun) I've used 138mb so far.

Gym near me is guarded by cp 1200
My highest is cp175

The gap is only going to get bigger too and thats the issue

The game boy games had more static opponents.
This game will see a larger gulf develop

As you can only really do stuff at gyms, and you've caught all the local pokemon, the game becomes a chore.

I absolutely adore pokemon, but don't see this lasting at anywhere near the level it's at now without a revamp

You think that's what Ash said? No! He went out and explored the world!

Game is playing a lot smoother today. my nearest gym has changed hands twice since midday. Some fairly low CP pokemons in there and only 2-3. Unfortunately, gotta work...

I can live with that, cheers :)

After a day of no hassle it has started dying again, it's 0900 eastern time so guessing the Americans are now getting involved :(

Not doing too badly on here. Just leave it idling on my desk at work and quite a few have popped up over the course of the day. Nothing of major note, mostly Drowzee's, Ghastlys, Rattata's and Pidgeys. But all good for getting XP and candy! Only level 6 at the moment.

Transfer every other one to get more candy and then when you get your lucky egg, evolve as many as you can. I went up 2 levels doing just that!

a really dire sony xperia z. It eats about 20% battery in 5 mins.

Oh its a joy to use. Roll on september upgrade.

Edit: yeah it is a known bug, but i've just had it happen 5 times in a row. It'll just be server issues, as when you tap on a pokemon it takes a while to register / transition into paper toss mode. Makes me sad, as a games tester, that stuff like this gets through to live.

My sisters boyfriend missed out on a Venomoth yesterday because of that :(
