Political Correctness Gone Mad Again

Not sure if it has been mentioned in the thread so far, but if we are now getting rid of the walk-on girls and grid girls, can Abercrombie and Fitch please get rid of the semi naked bloke who stands at the front of their shops?

If we are wanting true equality, then surely this has to happen? Or are we going down the lines of the double standards in a similar way that some of the feminazis are with strippers......

Sits back and grabs popcorn........

Sorry but what does removing show/grid girls have to do with equality?

Edit - I only eat sweet popcorn..... Just putting that out there

You actually believe that or just for the sake of a forum?

I'd say you are gonna be up for a hell of a shock in the next 50 years.
You better get protesting to protect the amply chested, pillars of your working class heritage.

I don't even know what that last parts means, and I'm in shock already that our society has turned into such a bunch of pathetic wimps in such a short space of time. I can understand women behaving like that, but when "men" do as well all I feel is pity.

My question is this - why is it wrong to objectify women, or men come to that? If a man or women is attractive and they are quite happy to be admired then what does it matter, who are they harming? I have listened to a number of these ladies on the radio this week who suddenly find they are out of work, a number have young children and have bills to pay.

One of the ladies who did the darts gigs said - she looks nice, wears nice clothes and escorts the darts players to the Oche. She has never been sexually harassed or compromised in the ten years she has been doing the job - again where's the harm?

A business man (who didn't want to be identified) was claiming that we are going to end up with a situation where women are seen as toxic, no one will want to employ them for the constant fear of being sued or their business reputations being trashed. Where does all this end?

Because it keeps a cycle of "attractiveness uber alles" going.

Pageants, especially child pageants, are pretty grim things. Ever notice how pretty much none of them have/allow boys to enter? You have entire generations of women being brought up to believe that beauty is all that matters. Then a multi-billion dollar make-up industry, the basically exists due to people having issues with how they look or believe they should look.

I find it funny when people complain about hown arcissistic the human race is becoming, but then have no issue with objectification based on looks.

I think it should be obligatory for all newborn babies to be transgender which would solve so many problems.
At 64 I have no idea whether it is OK to find women attractive or not which is playing havoc with my dirty old man persona.

Well let's keep what I say to most armchair offended people: You should get up and do something about it, if it actually, really bothers you.

Cos, as you point out, a small vocal minority, effectivley changed the course of world history by "complaining loudly enough"

Maybe it's time to actually stand up for what you believe in.

Or you can roll over like a good dog and go for a walk when you are told to.

May have worded that wrong.

What I was trying to get over is that they have removed the grid girls on their understanding that it is wrong to objectify women.....so to use that rationale that objectification is wrong, then it must be equally applied to men too.....so my A&F is now out of work too.

Not a fan of sweet popcorn.......chilli or just bog standard butter for me

It's for every single person that does object to objectification, which is probably most? I dunno.

Do you stereotype and pidgeonhole everyone and everything so freely?

Is a good looking women better than a plain Jane with a PhD in genetic research against disease?

I think society has/is/trying just beginning to evolve away from the outward appearance being so important, but most would want that as you are all so ugly.... :P that's a joke btw incase anyone takes offence.

I get what you're saying. My issue is with the people complaining. I get that everyone has a right to an opinion. But protest to have this sort of thing band... On the basis that it's sexist and just down right wrong. Is simply........ Wrong lol. Who died and made them (those who oppose this sort of thing) the official representative for all women?

They sometimes behave as if these women are being forced to do this sort of thing. Of it were really an issue, I'm sure women wouldn't have a problem saying "no" to such opportunities.

Completely agree with you there. To many people getting outraged for other people...who actually are not upset or have any issue with it in the 1st place.

The way some of these so called liberals act is in no way liberal. In fact, it is the complete opposite of it. But don't try and tell them that, or you will be wrong and vilified for it.

Presumably the same people who died and made you (who supports this sort of thing) the official representative for all women?

Lol

The point I'm making is that we all have different views. And I don't know about you. But I am more than capable of representing myself in life.... I don't need someone (who looks like me). To assume they know what's best for me.

Sometimes yes, but none of these people are "being offended on the behalf of walk-on girls", they are against the objectification of women in general. The areas where this is now showing impact (F1, darts, etc) also happen to be areas where there is zero justification for those positions, eye -candy is not a legitimate reason to most people.

'insulted' that advertisers sought to associate their product or event with attractive fully clothed women.
Then why don't stiletto-shoe, make-up or tampon manufacturers associate their product with attractive fully clothed men? :)
Surely women aren't repulsed by their heterosexual biology?

I feels sorry for people that think that they are totally immune to any such effects
Depends on the context and the product.
For example, a naked woman has no place around a shiny new motorcycle in my world, as I just take one look and think she's an uninterested sales tactic that'll only get in the way.

Heterosexual men who beleive that they are totally immune from the effects of seeing an attractive woman are either deceitful or deluded.....
Anyone who believes men are such slaves to their sexual urges that they'll buy anything so long as there's a sexy chick somewhere nearby, is not only reinforcing the All Men Are Rapists concept that the feminazis love, but is also truly deceitful and deluded.

It seems the hard left is all about the oppressed and the oppressor these days. You have to take a side or they automatically lump you into helping the oppressors.

If you sit in the middle rational ground like the walk out girls for the darts they cannot comprehend it. The main problem I reckon is that there are almost no worthwhile fights left in our society. (Plenty in other societies but they never seem to complain about those).

I would say a lot of the nonsense started after gay marriage was written into law. This was the point where most rational people said "Yeah that's great, everything seems fair now, well done 21st century world, now we can all just crack on".

The laws of the land are fair, they no longer discriminate against anyone that I can see. So now we see a lot of invented outrage and outrage on behalf of other people. The only real reason I can see for this is so the hard left can feel like they are keeping the good fight going. I think the worry for a lot of them is that if there is no longer a fight or an bogeyman to battle then then the mirror might turn on them.

Trump and the old right are not the people to solve this . What we need are all the rational grown up people on the left to stop pandering to all this nonsense and call it out. The liberal media I feel is partly responsible for these agendas and milking them for click bait profit. Any news organisation hyping this stuff and misreporting it needs to be boycotted. Instead of rushing to fight back from the centre ground in the comments sections on these articles the best thing to do is unfollow / unbookmark and go elsewhere.

We have equality of the laws of the land, the best thing to do if you are gay / transgender / migrant etc etc etc is to shut up about it and be successful. Success will put you into the mainstream and make the masses normalise your presence in society as an asset. The victimhood left just want to keep you dragged down at the bottom with them.

You’re doing a fine job of it yourself.

Eye candy is nice though ..

You seem to have a bit of a problem with homosexuality, anything you would care to share?

Which of "gay / transgender / migrant" do you think applies to "Walk-on" or "Grid" girls?
