Before MAX. I was refused a 2Meg connection by 3 ISP's,

, and eventually settled for a 1Meg Adsl.
My 1 Meg always said Attentuation DS 7.5DB, US 6.5
Noise Margin DS 34db, Noise Margin US 37db
I tried for a 2Meg regrade.. they refused again.
Finally upgraded to ADSL MAX. Synced in at 8128 first go, and it has not dropped the connection a single time. I have noticed that I get a few FEC, and CRC errors if the phone rings, I guess the 50V ring signal is causing some interference, but talking on the phone seems to have no effect. Even if the phone rings, the error rate is low enough that the router doesnt bother to disconnect and try again.
Downstream Upstream
SNR Margin : 11.0 30.0 db
Line Attenuation : 7.0 4.5 db
Data Rate : 8128 448 kbps
The SNR margin seems to fluctuate from 9.5db to 11db, but I dont that the modem's measureing system is 'that' accurate. Its not like its a 20 grand line analyser

.
Funny thing is, a few days after upgrading to max, BT finally got around to updating the database record for my line. It now says I can have 2Meg standard ADSL, and its removed all mention of the warning that I have an excessivly long line. (as you might guess from my Attenuation figures.. The telephone exchange is just 1 street away from me, approx 150 meters)
