Not seen it in action yet, but looking at getting a new monitor so possibly going to bite the bullet as from this post it seems that's where my money should go..

Ok I disabled gsync and went to Sir Hammerlocks big game hunt...got a contant 100fps dipping to 90 in places.

Enabled gsync and went back...got the same frames but couldn't tell the difference.

200 quid extra this cost me....what am I missing?

You're missing the games that are actually demanding. Stuff that doesn't hit 60 fps max'd will benefit from it. Games like Far cry 4, Witcher 3, Dying Light, SOM etc will all benefit from one of the sync's.

If you only ever play games where you get up to and over 100 fps you're out of the tech to eye target zone.

I disagree (though you are missing one of the bigger benefits) - playing at a capped 120-125fps depending on game (with 144Hz) and G-SYNC means no noticeable input latency, no issues from even slight slowdowns (dropping below being able to hold 120fps for vsync at 120Hz results in a fairly big drop to the next vsync framerate multiple), everything stays clean and clear with the responsiveness of vsync off and none of the slight rippling and tearing of having vsync off. Some people might just not notice the difference but for me its just a more seamless experience and I can definitely notice it in side by side testing.

I've not tried it :(.

I suppose my next monitor will be freesync/g-sync. Can't say I really like the idea of tying a major feature of my monitor to a specific brand of gpu :(.

I was not 'bowled over' as I fully understood the principles behind the technology before using it for the first time and knew what to expect. My expectations were met and I like the feature a lot. Not everyone is as sensitive to tearing and stuttering though, so mileage may vary.

I was going to reply with a full on detailed post, but I can't, as what the Royal ****ing hell is Sir Hammerlocks big game hunt???

Seriously, wtf?

It's a bordlands 2 dlc. I had to look it up as I found the two posts amusing and thought it was a joke :D

Really! Is it an rma jobby?

Looks like it. Started of by only being able to run at 24Hz. Tried another DP cable but still no luck. Then it proceeded to show no image at all. I've borrowed another power brick from a mate to try today as I've seen some users report issues with the supplied one. Many have purchased Asus laptop power bricks which are compatible. But I'm not holding out much hope.
