What? They can only print stuff that you personally agree with?

No... but they should least be monitored better. They have too much sway in election. We wont get another labour party until they have a leader who is practically the same as the tories so the media and big businesses will be able to do some backdoor deals.

I believe other countries do not allow media headlines like this 3 days before election.

It will only change if it hits the circulation figures. There's definitely a more noticeable number of people being happy that they are thick as mince, so I don't expect that to change.

It's not even facts though, most of what they printed is just lies. Fox News tells the truth more than the sun

Most of the points aren't entirely not based on truth though - though some are based on either Labour's past record or things yet to be proven.

there is nothing stopping the mirror or any other publication from making similar images or cartoons re: May

there is also plenty of alternative media with attacks on both sides - I mean there is the Liar Liar song, there is the new Casette Boy - they're getting at least as much coverage as a single issue of the Sun

seems to be a mix of facts and opinion tbh...

Aboslutely not at all.

There is a ban on the media isn't there? to stop them influencing the vote? why does that not extend to newspapers i'm asking. All they do is print fake news anyway....

Only applies to TV and radio, weirdly.

I mean, apart from self respect.

Broadcast media are not allowed to show any bias or comment favourably on any party whereas newspapers can print pretty much want they want.
Apparently it's to do with broadcast media being more 'believable' so having a greater influence, it's true in a way as some of the stuff the DM, Sun, Mirror etc come up with is just comical and you'd have to be pretty daft to believe it.

Having serious discussions with the family in the coming weeks about selling up the house and leaving this ****** island. Other half is one qualification away from it being viable tbh.

This just isn't the country I grew up in. Surveillance state under constant terrorist threat, health service falling apart, stagnant wages, no growth.

Would get us out tomorrow if I could. Had enough of it.
Most of my friends had the right idea, they left years ago, and have a very nice life in places like Australia.I shudder to think what this place will look like 5 years from now.

what do you mean by 'there is a ban on the media'?

The above is what I was talking about. Ban is probably not right word to use.

Sadly I know lots of people who will regurgitate what the Dm and sun say as fact. Even had my 93 year old neighbour tonight saying he was going to vote labour but after hearing about the £4500 garden tax which he can't afford he might now have to vote Tory. He lives in a £100k terraced house with a 6m x 6m back garden. Doesn't matter that it's rubbish, people are believing it and biting accordingly.

I hold out some hope that enough of my fellow Scots will see themselves to back Independence if the Brexit talks start to look as shoddy as it seems they might be, failing that I'd be considering moving away too, its no longer a good place to try and be in business, in theory a Tory party was meant to be better for business but the current lot seem intent on killing small business with more and more red tape and tax.
