Right I've got my first oil change at the local OPC, I wonder how much this is going to cost! :(:o:eek:

And of course you need a 991 C4S or Turbo for 24hrs whilst you leave your car with them as your planning an upgrade.

I always used to book my car in on a Friday to collect on a Monday. The result something really nice to have over the weekend, I got a Cayman R out of them once. :D

£100 less if you supply your own oil...

Yup, I've got 10Lt's of Mobile 1 New Life (0w-40) ready to go. I wonder what excuse they can come up with for not using it. :p

Also as its there second attempted to fix the clock on my sports chrono, so see what happens there.

However, I did notice that the OPC does have a lovely 918 in the showroom, so ill be drooling over that while mines being serviced. :D:D

I did get offered a car, but I've got a busy weekend this weekend. So I don't really have time for it. :(:(

The oil change (Including supply my own oil) and check the car over it came to the grand sum of £238.60.

However, due to a stone from a lorry I now need a new windscreen which I've been given a quote of £808.49 for it to be supplied and fitted. Speaking to the insurance company, they want Autoglass to fit a 3rd party screen. I've refused to have that installed as I want a OE screen and Porsche to fit the screen and all calibration work needed with the screen. So, its been reffered, now I need to wait till Monday for a update.

It needs to go back again for the Sport Chrono clock, as its still not fixed.

On the plus side, I did get to drool over a lovely 918 with mine behind. :D

So I have had new screen on 2 of my 911's and a new one on the Panamera.

This is how it went down on the 911. The insurance company give me 3 choices,
1 take the 3rd party screen and pay £50 excess
2 get a OEM screen and they would pay me something like £80 towards it
3 put in a proper claim, loose my NCB and they will fit a proper OEM screen.

On the Panamera I cracked the screen on the first few days. I had the drive away insurance from Porsche and they covered the cost of a OEM screen which I think came to £1.6k.

I'm waiting to hear back on Monday. I don't want a 3rd party screen in the car as its a new car. If I have no joy from the insurance company, I will pay for it myself. As I want no excuses should I have any warranty problems.

Also on a side note, I am getting them to confirm in writing about the N-Rated tires and how it effects my warranty.

I also forgot to say Porsche do not fit the screen them self, they got in auto glass to do it who made a mess of the job.

I know OPC Colchester Ive a independent fitted for their screen but Ive been warned about AutoGlass fitting.

If AutoGlass do change the screen, I am taking pictures before and after should they cause any damage to the car. However, at the moment I am pushing for the OPC to do the screen for me.

Yah I pushed hard and got nowhere in the end.

Porsche told me that I can't renew the warranty with a 3rd party screen but I did as they did not know I had a 3rd party screen.

I would not worry about the OEM screen.

Also check with auto glass as they don't make non OEM screen for all cars so sometimes they fit a OEM screen.

But if you have speed limit display you need an extra 5 hours of calibration

I had the screen on my GT3 replaced and Porsche had zero issue with it. If you have a good OPC then such things, like tyres, brakes and geo settings should have no impact on the rest of your warranty.

Still waiting on a update from Insurance & Porsche about my windscreen, as they are seeing if they can get a OE screen at the moment. As I chase them today and they are waiting for a quote from Porsche. It really annoys me when people say, I will call you on Monday (Insurance & OPC) and yet you have to chase them. Where is the element of customer service, its only a simple little thing!

Also apparently they are still none the wiser about my Sports Chrono and it not showing the time on the analog hands. So they have refereed it to one of there master techs. Colchester really need to start improving, I'd use Bournemouth if it wasn't to far away as they have been exceptional. I've told them about the firmware which was released for it to correct this problem "WC60" but they seem convinced the car doesn't need a update. As that's my precis problem and this is the 3rd time they have looked at the car now and the Sports Chrono clock has been replaced once. This will be the forth if it goes back again this weekend!

If your Sports Chrono clock does not show time with the analog hands (and you have enabled it in the settings), then you should ask your service advisor to apply WC60. It is a software update that will fix this issue and also improve the backlighting of the clock.

Info from here: Planet-9 Recalls / Service Bulletins / Etc...

Edit: I was phoned today to see how much experance was at the weekend at OPC Colchester, so i've compained and they are looking into it. Lets see what happens!

so how did you get on.

Im thinking of getting one of the cars shipped back to london on friday so I don't have to go up and down. Anything to look out for? I have a couple of quotes at about £200

I love your posts. For someone seemingly so well off your naivety makes me laugh.

Pay £1-3per mile which is the going rate for careful car shipping. The lower end on a flatbed the upper end in a covered trailer.

Any less and they'll sell it to immigrants at Calais then bill you for the loss of the car.
