Porsche Owners Thread - If you own one or just like or hate them! :)

Any of those 5 grand boxsters in here? Saw plenty for sale but too good to be true? I keep almost taking a punt at one but the price of running it scares me!

Ahhh that's Bournemouth, that's where my car is from. Who was you're sales contact?

The aero kit is a huge plus in my opinion but it seems a fairly low / medium spec car for the money to me.

They are not too bad to run to be honest, I'd say it's cheaper than a M Series BM or RS / S Audi to service etc....

However, you'll be looking at the first gen cars which are starting to get a little old now and may need extra work doing to replace tired components. Just make sure you go in with you're eyes open as a engine rebuild will cost more than the car is worth.

Ah, the old 'made an offer on a rare and expensive sports car but decided within a matter of days to buy a saloon car instead' chestnut. Annoying when that happens :p

Lol it's not quite like that. Geneally i think I want to settle with a GTS 991 and a Panamera and I would need to sell both my cars for that to happen. The total sale price of my 2 cars will be more or less the same as the 2 cars. However the 5k grant will come to a end in a few days so it makes sense to order the Panamera now. I also managed to get a very large discount.

I still want a GTS but they will wait until the right one comes up.

I don't remember the name. It's the first time I called them and they are not someone I have had dealing with before.

The spec is actually not bad. It's around 18k worth of options.

In a ideal world I Would find a car with LED headlights, ACC, 18 way seats and Burmester.

What what I read it's a nice upgrade but not nice enough For me to spec it.

Today I locked down the spec. Saved 15k on list price which I'm pleased with. Having said that depreciation is really really bad on these. The last one I got had dropped 35k on its list price in one year. Crazy

If the tax saving and gov grant is removed I can't imagine anyone ever buying one as its not that fast or good on fuel.

Also he has more or less promised me a GT 911 when the next one is due as part of the deal. Deposit will be down soon so there is a good chance I will get one.

Why are you buying one then?!

It works for my needs very well. I actually quite like it but I can see why it's not the best car however there is no congestion charge, a lot of tax savings and big discount which brings the cost of ownership down to a more reasonable level.

Well its only take about a month but my new windscreen is being fitted tomorrow, Porsche are fitting the screen on my drive. Hopefully, it all goes well and I can finally mark it off as completed.

Finally. Hope it all goes well.

Oddly they have not phoned about payment yet, so ill pop by the dealer tomorrow to make sure I get the invoice before my new insurance kicks in next week.

I've even notice that the Sports Chrono lights up now, that's something it never done before.
