Porsche Owners Thread - If you own one or just like or hate them! :)

Oo this will be a fun game. I meant 1442 cars on 01/04/15.

I have the UK number and UK date. I have to check the date as I am not sure if it's US/UK format, so you are either very close or less close. The number, from what I have seen, is significantly less than your number, which suggests a global number is what you have...

I can't really comprehend how there can be so many LOI's already, when such little is known about it!

Easy.

Enthusiest know its coming, they get in touch with their OPC and put their name down, maybe even a deposit too.

Just like I did with the new Mustang and as such it guarantee's me one. :)

Dealers allow you to get your name on a car even if its not yet on their ordering system, it is about being first and pro-active.

As the saying going, YOU SNOOZE, YOU LOSE!! :D

Have to say 85k be nice, all these new crazy higher prices Porsche are doing are both good and bad. Good for me as my cars value is getting better, but bad for those who don't currently own a Porsche and looking to buy. :D

or have a GTS on order, which should be built by 23rd. :D:D

TBH. I am happy with my order and the only thing id change it for is a 991 GT3.

Yeah fine but what I mean is I would feel daft giving a LOI to a dealership on a car I'm not even sure was coming, with a spec that is so unconfirmed we don't know what engine it has, what gearbox etc!

Many do it, I did so. Plus come on its a Porsche GTx, it will be amazing and chances are you will be able to sell it for a profit if that was also your aim.

You knew a lot more about the Mustang though than we know about the GT4!

Actually no.

The V8 was not confirmed when I did it or the fact is UK cars would get the sports/track pack. But the deposit was refundable and it was likely Ford had a good idea of what consumers would want.

So it turns out UK cars will get the V8 and the track pack. :)

End of the day I wanted the ability to be first with one or the ability to take the car, own it for three months and then sell it for a profit if they are rare and in small numbers. :)

Porsche rarely make a donkey and with cars like GT cars, it is a fair assumption they are going to be special and in demand. Not all LOI's will have a deposit attached to them either. I had an LOI for the 997 Gen 2 GT3 but did not take mine up due to business slowing down. Also Porsche of late tends to assign special cars to people who already have special cars. So the GT3 RS for example is going to people who have ordered 918's first, all of who that I know will probably take the RS too. There has been a push to move the Porsche specials out of the speculators market and appearing for 10K markups and then some just after release.

So this is interesting news:

Details are scarce, but during an interview at the 2015 Detroit Motor Show, Porsche R&D boss Wolfgang Hatz confirmed a completely new engine for the upcoming GT3 RS. There had been rumours of turbocharging within the 911 range – but Hatz insisted that would be reserved for lesser models, and only when the 991 variant gets an overhaul later this year.

and also the GT4 has been confirmed.

In other news, Hatz confirmed a new Cayman variant – likely the track-focused GT4 – for release in the spring. As a result it’s safe to predict a Geneva Motor Show debut in March.

I put my Panamera up for sale at £45k, I have had a offer from my dealer for £42k to £43k. I had a guy call me and say he can get a 2014 car for £40k lol and wanted me to drop to low £30's :D

Hi there

I think GM just owned everything, check out the braking, figure 8 and lateral G's, even beating the truly amazing GT3 &GTR:

I'd be happy with any of the above, they really are such unique cars, with incredible looks and styling, though all vastly different.

But if it was my money and as much as I truly love 911's and their driving experience I have to say I think my own money would be buying the Vette not only has it got GT3 handling the performance of the thing is absolutely mind blowing. I mean it beats the GT3 PDK in quarter mile with a manual gearbox, one can only imagine how quick the auto version is with LC.

I have a full set (4) of N rated Continental tyres (295) rears which have 7.5 to 8mm left on them.

I can't see my self getting another 997 anytime soon so does anyone know how much I should ask for them? I may try eBay but I don't really like selling on there.
