Possible London Meet - 4th March 06

If everything goes as planned then like I said yes I am comming. Ill be at Liverpool St Stn at 10.30 - 10-45 am

I just like to express my concern. It just came to my attention whilst reading the Essex Meet Thread in OcUK:

I only just found out now. Naturally I am a bit annoyed this wasn't mentioned in the opening post. However, I am still up to it. But if you feel uncomfertable with it then i'll gladly cooperate by withdrawing my interest from this meet to avoid confusions.

Need an answer people! :)

I don't see any problem - there's no alcohol involved whereas there will be with the Essex meet. To be honest with you xSBass - I didn't know about this "rule" for meets but I'll try and find out what the position is although I can't see how we can stop you from turning up at Liverpool St at half ten with everyone else :D

a quickie question..........? :D

I expect most will be brining a tripod but what lenses? What other stuff should I bring? Filters?

I only have the kit lens (17-55 for 300D) and a Canon 70-300 lens. I will bring a couple of filters but I probably won't use them - fingers will be cold enough anyway without juggling and dropping them in the Thames :p

Batteries, memory cards or film are an obvious - saying that I went out for the day with my wife and forgot to pack my cf card!! doh! I ended up having to share her 20D - which was a shame ;)

I'll have my Tamron 24-135 on most of the time but I'm taking along my canon 100-300 too. I'll also have my usual filters - polariser and neutral density x8 filter - though I doubt I'll use them very much. Plus I'll have the usual collection of batteries and memory (around 2 1/2 gigs).

Cheers mate. As long as you don't mind and anyone else has no objections then yeah, I will still be coming :)
 
I'll be using either my Canon 17-40L F4 or Canon 24-70L F2.8. If anyone would like to borrow the lens I not using then they are welcome :)
I will need to borrow a tripod for long exposures so I'm sure I can do lens & tripod deal with someone :D

I will be taking all my photos in RAW format and won't be using any filters. My 20GB Flashtrax will take care of storage :)

I will ask my wife if I can borrow her quick release plate, you can then screw this into your camera and borrow my tripod if you like. I'm not promising though as she is rather protective of her camera gear! ;)
 
I'll be lugging my Manfrotto beast if I can still make it.

Some brown stuff has hit the spinny thing at work and it's kinda my fault so I might have to work over the weekend to fix it. I really hope not as I've been looking forward to this for ages. Will let you know tomorrow night :(

I have only given my mobile no to RichDay, so if people want to swap mobiles with me, drop me an email (below). I am reliant on GNER or WAGN to be running on time so if I am running late I probably should let someone know.

I've emailed you. I'll be relying on the Met line so could be late too. I'd better check it's running tomorrow as they've been doing engineering work at the weekend recently.
