A cubic meter is approx 10kwhs……..Élec: 202kWh but exported 560kWh so that's over £90 net profit.
Gas: less than 10 cubic meters no idea on the cost at the moment as I don't have a smart meter. Probably under £20.
Cool so barely £10 if I include the service charge.A cubic meter is approx 10kwhs……..
Find a spot in one of your fields and whack some solar on it.Just paid the last quarters electric, (no gas here, central heating and workshop heating are oil fired), and it was just shy of £1100. Turned the night time kennel heaters on yesterday, which are electric 175 Watts each, five of them, and the wife's succumbed and turned the central heating on.
Dreams of full retirement put on hold ...
How long will that take to pay for itself though?Find a spot in one of your fields and whack some solar on it.
In the 5-7 year range for you probably. Sounds like you use lots of power even in summer. How long will that take to pay for itself though?

I look at poeples gas usage for the year and wonder how they do it. I think mine would be higher just on heating water.
Last year I used 16KWh of gas and 3.7KWh elec and thats me being really very tight with the heating, I have the thermostat set to 19 max, most the time it was off.
I have a 4 bed Victorian semi, the cavity wall insulation was done, the loft was extended so its all modern insulation standards, the windows are all replacement double glazed sash and I have a brand new super efficient condensing boiler.
I work long hours in an office so most the time the heating is off and I live alone half the week and have my two kids the other half.
I thought I was doing quite well re the heating bill until I read this thread, my last house (admittidly was much bigger) used ~42KWh of gas a year ! mind you it was only about 2.5p /KWh then.
