Post your FTTC line stats & unlocking info

Not downloaded much of anything gaming mainly :)

How does one go about fixing the errors? Could this be another line fault? My line never drops sync....

Edit: Mmm did dl some stuff to sky go, a few gig I think....

Hi Angel,

Sky Go will use a lot of data same as Sky Antyime+
If the line is not dropping sync don't worry to much about the errors,
DLM should help fix this by changing the line type and or interleaving depth.

Errors can be caused by a number of things both inside and outside the house and so can be very hard to work it out,
Try to get a shorter dsl cable the shorter the better really.

Cheers for that. TBH I dont think it could be a shorter cable if i tried!

I see what 10 days constant connection does :)

Want to try this again! I originally got stuck @

I knew it was on there somewhere, I tried that on ipv6, was wondering why it didn't work!

GRRR getting really annoyed, must have reset my modem about 5x now so no doubt interleaving will be off for a while which means my pings will be **** again for a while :'(

Worst of all I still cant get it unlocked!

I have the homehub 3.0 and Echolife HG612 SP10

I have tried both these combinations and both fail!
Complely removed the homehub so that its not connected and just the cholife hg612

1. Power off modem
2. Connect PC directly to lan socket 2 of (Echolife HG612 SP10)
3. Changed network ipv4 to 192.168.1.100 (auto enters subnet mask)
4. Hold in the rest button on (Echolife HG612 SP10)
5. Connect cable back to (Echolife HG612 SP12) to power it back on
6. Keep the reset button pressed in for a further 5 seconds
7. use browser to visit 192.168.1.1

Also tried
Have the homehub 3 connected to echolife hg612 sp10 via 2 ethernet cables.
-Modem connects to homehub via ethernet LAN2 to "BT Infinity" Red ethernet port
-Homehub connects to PC via ethernet port 1 to ethernet port on computer

1. Power off modem
2. Connect PC directly to lan socket 2 of (Echolife HG612 SP10)
3. Changed network ipv4 to 192.168.1.100 (auto enters subnet mask)
4. Hold in the rest button on (Echolife HG612 SP10)

This does not work for me, I cant get access to the page and have 0 internet.

I have tried both and neither work for me and I am sick of doing resets and holding in that damn button!

GIVEN UP! just cant get any configuration to work :'(

Yet for me on Firefox, it was a breeze.

I was expecting to have problems but it worked perfectly first time. I cannot understand why people are haying problems.

Could it be perhaps you are counting the second too quickly? I left it over 10 seconds total and counted slowly, just to be sure.

Worked fine for me with IE9 on W7 (HUAWEI EchoLife HG612). Got the firmware file (and instructions) from here:
http://huaweihg612hacking.wordpress.com/

Does anyone know how to get a single computer to access internet directly through the modem? I'm sure it is a simple matter of configuring some settings but I'm not sure which...

Any advice appreciated.

Just give the computer an IP in the correct range, then configure the computer to dial in via PPPoE. Even then I'm not 100% it'll work.

Hi all
I had BT Infinity installed yesterday and today I am unable to use any of my Mediafire download links. Suspecting the issue was with the new modem I wanted to access the setup but obviously couldn't.
I then found this site.
I have tried numerous attempts to install the firmware as desribed in the instructions.
I always seem to be able to get the Install new firmware page up and the modem seems to go through the process and restarts.

I have managed to access the settings page twice.
Once I was able to change the firewall settings but it wouldn't store the change.
It then crashed and didn't display the page values only the headings.

I got in once more to change the qos setting as advised but again it crashed as above.

I am now struggling to get back in.
The modem is a 3B version and as I have been able to access the setup I am wondering what the problem actually is.

Does the DSL cable need to be attached during this process?

I can unplug and press the reset button and apply power then go to the correct IP address and see the upgrade screen virtually everytime. Just can't get to the setup....

Any ideas please.

For anyone who is interested, the IWF (Internet Watch Foundation) in cahoots with BT and other ISP's blocked mediafire download links last night. Although the block has been lifted it seems BT have not complied and are still blocking mediafire.

Been trying to unlock the Echolife HG612 SP10 myself, & I failed:o, tried several times & it will not unlock.:(

Anyone in Bath or Bristol side of Bath area who can do it?:o

Even within 10- 12 miles of Bath would be ok.

I'm almost certainly going to unlock my HG612 at some point this week, but do have a few questions.
Turning off QOS is a given, so will be doing that. My main question though is in relation to turning off the Firewall. As my network is behind a Firewalled RT-N56U, would it still be "invisible" if the firewall on the HG612 was turned off ? I ask because there must be a slowdown and overhead caused by the Firewall in the HG612 ?

Yes. The HG612 doesn't have a WAN IP.
