I think I need show you a nice smooth Single Raptor X (cant Raid0 for now as of PC case+8800Ultra hitting HDD Cage) :(

I need try after all downloads complete (Im nearly as fast as previous Mobo with Silicon Control as of new Bios/drivers on this NF6).

CPU usage is huge, that and the slow speed says the drive is running in PIO mode. Check device manager and see if it'll let you change the mode, failing that right click on the controller and pick uninstall then reboot and let Windows re-install it, that should kick it back to a sensible UDMA mode.

The underlying speed looks OK but the traces are quite variable. Was there a lot going on on the machine when you ran the benchmarks?

Haha, I didn't even realise there was a jumper on the hard disk, so it's probably still there. Thanks for the tip, Scoobie Dave! I'll give it a try later on. :)

Have you taken off the little jumper off your hd? Only reason I ask is because your burst speed should be a lot higher. Take it off and run another benchmark.

:)

Wow, that jumper is definitely the smallest one I've ever seen! I had to use a paper clip to get it out because the tweezers I had were too big. Here's an updated HD Tune benchmark:

As you mentioned, the burst rate is much higher now. :) Thanks again!
