Post your hard drive benchmarks!

Yeah been searching around there, I've seen the options you have there on a previous nforce 'board. This Asrock one isn't as helpful...

[ignore the unknown device, it's the capture chip on my gfx card.]

My HD seems a bit slow lately. What do you lot make of these results?

Minimum 0.8Mb/s thats not right, I would backup data from that drive. Its been mentioned that poor speed is an indication of impending drive failure.

mine seem a little slow 2x 250 gb sata 2 drives raid 0 on intel on chip controller, theres also a jm controller on the ab9 pro board would that be better
the drives are Seagate Barracuda 7200.10 ST3250820AS 128k stripe

Disable NCQ on a RAID 0 P5B deluxe

Does anyone know how I can disable NCQ for the 2 RAID 0 drives I have - plugged into the intel chip on the p5b deluxe.

I can't see any of the options mentioned in device management.

thanks!

THat second drive is a fairly old one? I'd use it for storage of older files and just use raid for the os, that looks pretty speedy :)

Hi there, yeah the single 120GB is my older one, was gonna use that as my OS, Music storage one etc and my RAID for games, mainly so that i wouldnt lose everything if one of the hard drives crashed.

Do you think it would be beneficial doin it your way then? I suppose i could put the page file on the single drive too, will have to see.

I think this is why I'll probably wait till a dx10 only game comes out before I buy a dx10 card. There wont be a massive difference to be seen till then, dx10 is about efficiency afaik and splitting time on dx9 seems to ruin what could be at present.

Maybe they just need more time on development tools themselves before the results can filter down, we all underestimate the time and effort required to build these games compared to ones of yesterday
