Post Your Home Cine & HiFi Kit...

after looking at everyone elses kit mine looks a bit carp but hey ho:

HIFI:
Rotel RT-830AL Tuner
Technics SU-V40 class AA Amp (Upgrading soon)
Technics SL-PG100A CD-Player
Kenwood KX-3080 Tape Deck

Speakers:
Custom Bulit floor standers. 12" sub, 5" midrange, 8" cast horns
(soon for rebuild)
Technics SBFW12 bookshelf speakers 175w DIN

TV etc:
Phillips 32" Widescreen 100hz TV
Phillips VR608 6-head Nicam VCR
Panasonic DMR-E55 DVDR

After building an HTPC box around a Shuttle unit, then discovering it was too noisy for service in the living room, I've just completed HTPC Mk2, the main mission being to make it as quiet as possible. Here's what I ended up building:

Enclosure:
Silverstone LaScala LC03 (black)
Lined with AcoustiPack absorbtion material
QTechnology 350W PSU (120mm fan)
SilentX 60mm exhaust fan at 7v

Processor:
Intel P4 2.4 Northwood
Thermalright SB-2
Panaflo 92mm fan (fluid bearing) at 7v

Storage:
Maxtor DiamondMax 10 200GB SATA
Silentmaxx hard drive enclosure
Pioneer DVD-120

Video:
Hauppauge PVR-250
Sapphire Radeon 9550 128MB
Zalman ZM80D-HP dual heatpipe heatsink

Misc:
Asus P4C800-E Deluxe
512MB Kingston HyperX PC3200

The box is running Media Center 2005.

It is being fed from a Telewest Page 4000 STB via an RGB to s-video convertor. The STB is controlled via the MS IR blaster and a Red-Eye IR convertor.

The Radeon card's VGA output is connected directly to the RGB SCART input of my 32" Sony via a custom made cable. The resolution used is 960x540 with custom timings courtesy of Powerstrip.

To say the box is quiet would be an understatement. Unless you put your ear next to it you can't even tell it's on! All in all I'm very impressed with this solution.

I'll post some pics the next time I'm inside it.

My Pioneer PDP434HDE and Panasonic SCHT870 sound system, well happy.

AV setup
Sony STRDB830 reciever
B&W DM600S3 fronts
KEF cresta 20c centre
Cheapy ariston surrounds
Supra Rondo cables to the fronts, gale stuff to the rears

Time for a good stereo amp and cd player now, as well as a nice hifi rack and speaker stands.

Bought a £50 center speak just to have one (Heybrook)

Philips 32" flat widescreen TV

there's no point whatsoever in having speaker stands if you put them on your desk. They are designed to couple the speakers as firmly as possible to the floor. Stands on the desk will just result in all vibration being amplified by the desk.

Two setups here, PC one in my room and then hi-fi in lounge

PC Setup
Creative Audigy 2ZS
Logitech Z-680 5.1 THX

Hooked up via digital coax for DVDs and direct for games etc

Lounge hifi is owned by my flat mate so i'm not sure 100% of the models but I think its:
Marantz CD deck
Naim amp
Ruark speakers
